This is definitely AWOL Nation original. So many artists have sampled this or covered it. It's been used in American tv commercials and probably a few shows and movies as well. For how well known the song is, the band is slept on. They are good!

I saw them in a small venue in my city about 8 years ago. They also toured with TOP at one time.

They opened for Twenty One Pilots in St. Louis. When they played this song it brought my daughter and I both to tears. He said he wrote this song at a very low point in his life.

It's also about dealing with mental illness and not just relationships - 'maybe I should cry for help, maybe I should kill myself' meaning what if it doesn't matter one way or another what I do, it'll just be lumped under ADD anyway.' 'Maybe I'm a different breed, maybe I'm not listening' - doesn't mean he's being a prick and not listening to a girlfriend in a relationship, it means 'maybe I'm not the normal joe smith robot society wants me to be, maybe I'm not listening to that little voice that tells me it's ok to be different.' He brings it back to 'blame it on my ADD' because that's what society does. A personal doesn't fit into society's category of 'normal'? This band is one I’ve loved for awhile AAMOF, they were opening for one of the concerts we went to, but I can’t remember which one (not TØP, P!ATD, Imagine Dragons…), maybe another I can’t remember…you know, “Mania” tour…this is frustrating… My point is that no one would listen me when I kept saying we NEED to go see this band! Also been saying the same about Cage the Elephant, but no one listened. Now they’re starting to get recognized…another band to react to, Fil? Scratch that! I think it WAS with TØP. I don’t remember which location, as I’m a TØP “junkie” and have been to many shows…🤷🏻‍♀️
