Today is the second episode of a little series in which I show you how you can easily stretch your Axial SCX6 Jeep JLU a couple of extra centimeters or inches in order to turn it into a Jeep JT Gladiator. You do not need a lot of tools or parts in order to make this transformation happen, but in this video we will have a look at what you can do if you have access to a simple CNC machine. You can of course also create your parts by hand. In the previous video we focused on stretching the wheelbase and getting the geometry right, plus getting the truck to function fully.
The all new Axial SCX6 is a 1/6th scale trail truck that packs a ton of features which you might know from its smaller brothers and sisters. This brand new developed vehicle has licensed items and some familiar looking design elements, such as the officially licensed Jeep Wrangler JLU bodyshell, the Black Rhino rims and the BF Goodrich tires. Add a two speed gearbox, a full light kit, a scale interior and roll cage and electronics tailored for this absolute giant, and this is sure to be a huge hit with the RC community. This truck is a true engineering piece of art!

I thought that the armoured panel look would have been the way you were going to approach this project when you started. Looks really good Chris. Absolutely on point when you said machining a chamfer on your cut outs makes it look less hand made is something I instil in my young guys at work making custom motorhomes. Hand made is special but it should look manufactured if that makes sense. Looking forward to next episode, always cool content. Have a great weekend mate, cheers 👍

Sweet Project Chris. I did a LCG Slash Drag Truck using the PL 72 C10 body and finished it up (other than painting. lol) just when Traxxas announced their Drag Truck.

Really amazing skills as ever . Your CAD work ( cardboard aided design) and use of brackets is worthy of BOM's project Binky but on a slightly smaller scale well done . I'd like to see a form of camo with lots of flat clear details .
