A tip for the sweet potato ... Allow them to sprout a bunch of "slips" then carefully remove the slips, put in water and they will grow roots in literally 2-3 days, that way you avoid the actual potato degrading in the water while the plant slips still grow beautifully, I love your tank set up ❤️

I got the same substrate when you first added it to your tanks and posted the last video I love it and so do my plants, my axolotls do good in it too

What if u prune the sweet potato vines, with less leaves it may uptake a bit less nutrients, also to stop the swing when the sweet potato dies, u should start a new sweet potato a few weeks before the old one does and is removed... hopefully u can get it working well 😊

Time for a two potato nutrient removal system then, each fresh potato offset by a couple of months so there is always one fresh one..when the older one goes mushy replace 😎

Are the leaves on the outside of the tank as well as the larger Roots all coming from the sweet potato, or are you using a different kind of plan on the outside that has the nice long roots on the inside? Also, did the wood that you have in the tank cause the water to turn brown from the tannins? Last question, what kind of sand would you suggest? I'm sorry for all my questions!!

Nice Video BUT: The Gravel is not bad in itself but it is coloured, which is bad for the little sausages. I do not recommend this Gravel and recommend "Axogravel" or natural gravel. You cannot put every fish in the aquarium because of the disease BD. Axolotls are very susceptible to it. In addition, these fish can get caught in the gills when they swim for their death. Axolotls are lurkers and eat everything that is smaller than them. If the real wood is in your aquarium, you should remove it as soon as possible as it decomposes after a while. When you really want to make them happy please change this. Your Axolotls will thank you.

On the sweet potato: Why don’t you prune the plant so that it doesn’t grow too large? That would be a much easier thing to do than dosing flourish. Or you could always eat that sweet potato and then replace it with a new one :) Also, I’d try some crpyts if you’re having success with amazon swords
