Really enjoyed them! One question I should have asked at the show, what made you use a Simaudio W5 for the amplification? Thought it was very interesting to see such and old amp power these, maybe makes the sound we heard even more impressive given that fact.

@@HiFiTurtle We tested these speakers with multiple different amps, all of which yielded superb acoustical results. I chose the moon to emphasize that these speakers are not picky when it comes to amplification, and for people to ask the exact same question. 😉

Linkwitz Audio showed the LX521 speakers. It is a 4 way, fully active loudspeaker, designed as a full range dipole, that delivers flat on-axis and off-axis response in the horizontal plane and frontal hemisphere. Linkwitz Audio offers the LX521 as a fully finished product for between $20,000 and $23,000 (depending on material choice and finish options) with delivery cost to the US included. Included in the LX521 package are speaker cables and 2 Powerboxes. Each Powerbox contains the external crossover and 5 power amplifiers.

Fernando, do you mean that the system includes 10 power amplifiers, all the necessary active analog crossovers, all the cabling plus the speaker and shipping at this price? So I just need to add an analog signal to make this work?

@@56ctconger Yes, you correct. The Linkwitz Audio LX521 offers an extremely high value proposition. Further, the LX521 speaker's dipole radiation pattern translates to 4.8 dB less detrimental room interaction than traditional box speakers. This is significant, particularly, in the mid-bass and low bass regions of the frequency range.

@@fernandomaldonado5586 So they are they are less sensitive to the room effects in the bass region? Is that why this was one of the few rooms where the bass did not have that obnoxious mid bass bump that is all too common in Hifi systems? To my ear this sounded more like live acoustic music and less like reproduced ( Hifi) sound.

Great reviews, thank you! Did you visit the TAD rooms? That was one of the most impressive rooms in my mind and I want to build my next system with TAD. Super 3D image and high resolution. Love it so much.

Not sure if you sat in the listening chairs in the PSB/ NAD room but the balance there was spot on & the DIRAC Live measurements show the system producing 24 hz.with flat frequency response across the rest of the freq spectrum in the listening chair area. What might also be mentioned was this was a 40' x 20' room.

Good review of the show. I agree with you on Legacy -way too much bass. My favorite speaker was the DeVore Super Nine.

The Focal Naim room was packed every hour , even on Sunday afternoon. The Maestro Utopia has phenomenal off axis fidelity. We were off to the right by the Matte Black Kanta No 3's and they still sounded phenomenal. Definitely one of many considerations for any potential buyer. They showed how versitile the Maestros are by playing playing 3 tracks. One light that was meh, and then the entire Strasbourg / St. Denis by Roy Hargrove, and Make Us Stronger By Ghost Rider which the latter had the lights flickering. They were on the IsoAcoustic GAIA iii. Everyone flocked to hear the Maestros. The 2 pairs of Focal Aria K2's were there to demo the difference IsoAcoustics GAIA make which was very impressive. I still want to AB test heavy duty Amazon Washing machine Isolation feet and the GAIA's III.

I think the washing machine pads will be equal to the iso. The thing about that presentation that always irks me is that the speakers are not leveled. The isoacoustics speaker sits 1.5" higher than the other which of course dramatically changes the sound

@@LuxAudio389 meaning for iso's presentation the show the two speakers are not at the same height. One is on the iso footers but the other is on spikes or not at all so there is a dramatic height difference. You can see it at 3:11
