Experiencing an Ayurveda retreat amidst the foothills of the Shivalik range in Himachal Pradesh in Kerala's well known Vaidyaratnam Vrindavan Ayurveda Chikitsalyam
I got an opportunity to reconnect with nature, culture, and the traditional roots of #Ayurveda at the foothills of the Shivalik. This wonderful experience was hosted by the Team of Vrindavan Chikitsalayam in Baddi, which is a traditional Ayurveda Hospital affiliated with Vaidyaratnam. This place is one of the few authentic Kerala Ayurveda centres in North India. Ayurveda “the science of life” originates from the land of Kerala, where it was passed down to #Ashtavaidyas or 8 families who practice Ayurveda. The legacy of one of the Ashtyavaidyas can be experienced here at Vaidyaratnam Vrindavan Chikitsalayam. The doctors here have over 30+ years of experience in Ayurveda and use the ancient techniques of Chikitsa- Nadi Pariksha (Pulse analysis) The Kerala trained therapists and their advanced techniques will remind you of “God’s own country”. Atleast, that is what I felt when I took the relaxing Abhyanga and Steam therapy.
But the place offers so much more than that. Vrindavan Chikitsalayam spreads across 25 acres of this picturesque land with beautiful lawns, huge plantations and medicinal farms. Many of the medicinal plants that grow here, turn into potions and kashayams in their Kashayapura. The campus also has three serene temples dedicated to Shri Krishna, Kali mata and Lord Dhanvantari (God of Ayurveda) They also have a Gaushala here, open to all visitors. The serene landscape and tranquil rooms add to the positivity of this place.
