How to Replace a Fantastic Vent Fan Motor

5 жыл бұрынIn this quick video, I bring a 20 year old fantastic vent back to life with a new fan motor unit. Fantastic Fans were recently aquired by Atwood Mobile Products but the part number is K801700.
Normally, I would have recommending a new vent, but the owner intentionally requested only to replace the motor.
Sometimes it's very nice when a repair is easier like this one.

Struggling to replace new arm assembly to the vent lid. I can not get the lid to close fully. I purchased a new part from E-trailer.. the part seems exact. i unscrewed the slide on the vent to attach the arm and the glide-somehow it is binding. Great vent!! 1994 New

Both of my fans open electronically but the blades won’t spin. It’s not a user error lol. I think I’ll just replace like you did to avoid the headache! Thank you!

Check the lid pin switch they get corroded and don't provide ground to the motor

I watch this also to try and trouble shoot why my fan doesn't work, replaced the fuse, no go so I thought I'd replace the motor like you did but having trouble finding the part for a Fan-Tastic Vent Model 8000. Tried calling the number on the fan but it's no longer in service. Any suggestions?

Do you have a video on the part at 6:05, the one that raises and lowers the lid? I am told it shuts off by "amping out" and out just clicks. We have to hold the knob that is turning to make it stop....every single time it opens or closes.

when I turn my fantastic fan on in my 2006 5th wheel the knob that appears to open the cover slowly moves a little bit then just stops. I'm assuming that since the cover doesn't open, the motor must not be able to turn on because of that ground hood pin switch not releasing. does that mean the knob motor is bad or could it be something else?

They are available on Amazon or any rv repair center can get it. Manufacturer part number k8017-00. It's called a pancake motor. Thanks
