RV Fan-Tastic Vent Lift Motor Replacement Video (pre 2014 models)

In this short video we show how to replace the lift motor on a Fan-tastic Vent fan. These vent fans have also been sold under the Atwood and Dometic brands. These instructions are specific to the older models (pre 2014), but much of the information also applies to the newer models.
*** Apologies for the excessive number of "first steps." Please feel free to have a chuckle at my expense for each additional "first step." It is not sloppy production. It is my gift to you!
This is a very simple repair that only requires a screwdriver, but if you are not comfortable with electrical repairs you should have someone else tackle the project.
NOTE: For vents made prior to 2014, the polarity of the wiring must be switched.

Thanks! Hope the repair goes smoothly! One thing to watch will be the polarity when you wire it up. For ours we had to wire it up "backwards" to make it work correctly. Your setup may be different. You will know right away. If open/close is backwards, just switch the wires and it will work correctly. Good luck!

mine is the same, it opens, but doesn't close, what could it be?

Unfortunately I have not been able to find a source for the individual components. As in the case of this video - I really only needed the plastic housing, but had to buy the whole motor assembly. Not saying there isn’t something out there, but I haven’t come across it. Good luck!

Motor runs fine where can I get the little round cylinder that hooks to the motor?
