In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/casey-c/mapmarks

Fun fact about the dad joke at 6:54 Pal-a-din: "din" means religion in Turkish and if you're trilingual in english french and turkish and read each word in these languages you can actually get the meaning of friend in religion. a Pal à Din

Black Star is such a snowball of a relic, if you're rolling downhill you just get strong and stronger, and if you're trying to roll uphill it does nothing.

Regarding the Spire soundtrack; (48:00) I was actually driven away from "a certain stream" after they started playing weird 90's pop as background music for Spire runs. I found it too distracting and gave the game a weird atmosphere, which is a shame because I used to love watching those streams. I think muting the game entirely could be a better option and encourage viewers to put on their own tunes.

I’ve always thought having a stream feature that could like, link to an external playlist that the streamer has on as well would be the best option. That feels like it satisfies the most people, while admittedly introducing extra complexity.

@@afbanjagjafdbxcvbrtjwsasdg2825 yeah totally, it really feels like a very reasonable feature that would see a decent amount of use, not sure why we haven’t seen twitch (or hell, even KZfaq now that they’re taking streaming a _bit_ more seriously) implement anything like it yet

Why not take the boomerang after the first fight? I thought you were supposed to take cards that increased your damage in act 1 and there were 3 question marks before the first elite too, meaning no card rewards coming up.

My take: 1. Random targeting is a very big downside. 2. Combust is a good damage card for act 1. 3. There are still hallway fights before the elite. Also ? can be hallway fights.

@@christiananderson5664 It's less bad when you already have an aoe attack like combust. Against single enemies random target is not a factor.

@@Hedning1390Most hallway fights aren't single target and 1 out of 3 of the elite fights in act 1 have more than one target. The random aspect of the damage can get you killed, a lot, and it's only 9 random damage in blocks of three for 1 energy. It's also horrible in act 2. It's just really. Not a good card. Ascension 20 is extremely unbalanced against the player by design. You can't afford to take bad cards. Even if you have decent strength gain it's mid at best
