@cbass2755 Brownie is a mess! 🤣🤣 They are so smart! I know that water had to taste so good! He's done that several times since we've had him - when I'm filling up the water trough, he comes over and starts drinking from the hose. The baby chicks are doing great! We've been able to pull 2 so far. She's very protective and no way to move her. She will peck you if you go near the nesting box. But we went ahead and got the 2 chicks since they were out of the nest to keep them safe from the other chickens or predators. We're thinking she pushed them out because after we were looking at the box, that board running across the front is pretty high. There's no way those babies as small as they are could have gotten out themselves. Any babies that are with her, we'll leave alone. Not sure what is the correct way to handle that. This is a new experience for us, but I guess that's what we'll do for now if we see any potential danger to the chicks just bring them in and put them in the brooder. 🤗❤

I thought that was the best thing to do, but just wasn't sure if it was the right thing. Sometimes, we just have to go with our gut feeling. Not everything we do works for someone else, but by sharing this knowledge and our skills with others, it gives us the ability to learn new things and we can find ways to make it work on our farms or homesteads. The baby chicks are doing well - enjoying their safe place with bedding, heat lamp, feed and water (I also give them some probiotic when they are just starting out). @lostribe5130 We got a pressure cooker last year that I learned to use for the first time. I was so nervous using it at first, but it's really easy - just follow the canning and cooking instructions and it's actually fun to do. We will have to get some of that chicken next time we go! @midwayfarms Thank you for watching! Hopefully the majority of America is waking up to the struggles we are facing and yes, things are only getting worse. Last days - it takes a days wage to feed your family - I think we're about there. How about you? It's going to take a long time to pull this country out of the mess this current administration has put us in. Trump is facing an uphill battle to get us back to where this country needs to be. This certainly will not be an overnight fix.

@cbass2755 I didn't think the roads anywhere else could be as bad as ours. Makes you wonder where all the tax money went for them to get in such bad condition. They don't do ditch and road sweep maintenance like they used to here. They are actually still fixing roads and bridges from the flood we had several years ago. I'm sure the lack of maintenance had a big part in how much the roadways were affected. We pick up items a little at a time each time we go and notice it's getting more and more expensive, and the quantity is being cut back to smaller and smaller packaging. I honestly don't know how families of 4 or greater can afford it! I really don't and couldn't imagine.
