Excellent reaction, I really enjoyed that. 'Amore' is one of Su-metal's solo songs - probably my favourite of those, but they are all so good it is hard to say any one of them is better than the others. This was the 11th song of the 17 they played that night - they were the first Japanese band ever to headline at Wembley Arena (X Japan had been scheduled to play not long before but had to cancel for some reason). They broke all the merchandise sales records there. The Kami Band that night were Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass (I love his solo in this one, it is one of the things that makes 'Amore' stand out for me) and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Su has 4 solos, two on each of the first two albums. The others are 'Akatsuki', 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow'. That last one is more of the classic power ballad I think you may have been expecting and pays homage to X Japan's classic 'Endless rain'. Su would perform her solos while Yui and Moa got a well earned break back stage. They also had 4 songs on the first two albums that they would perform as a duo (known as Black BABYMETAL) which would give Su her chance for a break. The Black BABYMETAL songs are '4 No Uta' (which they performed immediately before 'Amore' at Wembley), 'Onedari Daisakusen', 'GJ' and 'Sis Anger'.

Although it's a little melancholy, she finally got a solo where she wasn't trapped in an eternal nightmare, cherishing a star-crossed love until her body perishes, or having her heart filled by endless rain. Really, after all those years, she deserved a break. : ) "Let the words of love resound into the night sky. Let them bring Amore to outer space. The blue star that shines brings the life into my hands." - Amore Such a beautiful blend of Su's voice and electric guitars. And of course that BOH bass solo. This footage had Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars. And of course Hideki Aoyama on drums. The studio track had Kami Band guitarist Leda Cygnus playing both guitars and bass. He's the only Kami Band member known for certain to have participated in the studio recordings. Apparently, Koba brings in studio musicians on a song by song basis.

Excellent reaction to an excellent performance of Amore. The theatricality of the wings and the stage setup is great. The wings are associated with Su from her brief time in "Karen Girls" and appear on the Babymetal logo. I think of Amore and Akatsuki as a pair. They both have "crimson moon" references and mentions of keeping love alive even when the lovers are separated, but Amore is more optimistic than Akatsuki and I think it's more about love saving everyone and the World rather than individual passion. I also like Su's dancing in this. I feel that Amore is one of BM's more straight ahead songs, at least musically. Up to the dramatic pause it's a power ballad without any bizarre time signature changes or massive transitions, it's just driving forward. The melody always resolves itself in an unsurprising but satisfying way. It's also as much about the guitar and bass solos as Su's singing so while Aoyama is driving everything with the drums we also get solos from BOH (bass tapping), and the guitars. It's a great "big hair" type song that reminds me of the 1980s in a good way.

I like every SuMetal solo, this one is a beautiful power/speed metal ballad like Akatsuki, it was a live premiere for fortunate UK fans. Amore means "love" in Italian. Fantastic reaction and so nice to see you both are back with more BabyMetal. This song Amore was the 11th song out of a 17 song set list for the evening. This was the live premiere for Amore as well. There were 2 other live premieres that night as well, META! Meta Taro and the Black BabyMetal song GJ! with just Yui-Metal & Moa-Metal on vocals, while Su-Metal takes a break. Every song performance at this concert is beautifully done. I became a huge fan when I saw the Tokyo Dome red night (day 1) and black night (day 2) streamed on the official BabyMetal KZfaq channel. Then they streamed this Wembley concert and finally they streamed the Legend S concert, which was a celebration of Su-Metal’s 20th birthday with 2 consecutive concerts in her hometown of Hiroshima. If you get a chance to watch a full concert, I would suggest any one of those 3. The Budokan red night / black night concerts are probably the favorite in my collection and the first concert I purchased on Amazon at a very good price. I can’t wait to see more BabyMetal reactions.

Songs like this are a reminder of why Kei Kobayashi (Creator/Producer of BABYMETAL, a.k.a. I think one of the greatest BABYMETAL themed concerts was the Legend of 1997 concert. It is about transformation from JPop Idol to Metal Goddess. The concert starts very idol (with Ava Maria/Headbanger Remix) and ends definitely very metal (BABYMETAL Death!) Awesome concert and the three girls put everything they had into their performance. I think they took the souls of the gathered masses to feed off the energy. Please remember when watching BABYMETAL Death! that we are #notacult but if it was I would be in it!! The famous KZfaq algorithms brought me to you 😃. I'm so happy to subscribe as I loved your reaction to one of my favourite BM songs. I was lucky enough to go and see Babymetal twice here in London over the last 5 years or so , at Brixton Academy and laterly at Hammersmith in February 2020 just before the pandemic hit. I've seen most famous bands in 40 years of going to concerts from A-Z but the atmosphere was ethereal the last time I saw them. I am sorry but I don't know what you have or haven't seen them perform so I won't suggest anything yet except another favourite song called 'Night Night Burn' which has a very Latino Spanish flavour - they'll have a go at anything, which is what draws people in! They put a big smile on my face during the pandemic and personally kept me sane along with my other love 'Nightwish' but I'm guessing you've already covered them? P.S This song wasn't the show opener but over halfway through. Some songs are solo Su Metal songs to give Moa and Yui a well earned break and then they both have duo songs to give Su a break! Lovely to see you here and very happy to subscribe - I have PLENTY of excellent European bands to recommend - I'm told by my American friends that they just don't get the radio coverage there?! Wow, that is my first exposure to Baby Metal- love the song and the performance, there are no words, i was mesmerized - she has such a stage presence and and her band was incredible. I was reading the lyrics and the message I got from it is that love can save the world, maybe there's more to the meaning of the song but i was trying to capture it all, ill have to listen again. The song has not been preformed since 2017 during the Fox Festivals. This is back when the Kami band did not wear masks and were allowed to interact with the crowd. The shorter guitarist, Mikio Fujioka died at the beginning of 2018 due to an accidental fall. The other guitarist (Takayoshi Ohmura with his sparkle pink guitar) will play Mikio's signature "ESP Snapper 7 Burgundy Mist" (He is using a black E-II Horizon 7 string here) at shows afterwards.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This Wembley version is the one I love most. Whenever I see Amore performance, it reminds me of a phrase "gifted by God" although I am not a religious person. I wonder what level of skills are required for instrumentalists and singer to perform this song. If I had not known BABYMETAL at all and someone had told me this was an image created by computer graphic, I might have believed it. I guess no one or only a few people ever thought that the BOH's solo part could be played by bass guitar, to begin with. (Should be keyboard in normal case?) Talking about BOH's skill, you can find a good and recent video in KZfaq with keywords "kari band u/yeah!!". You will see BOH's usual performance there (not as a Kami but as a fusion musician)

You know the Fox Hole is like the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland, when you get in you´ll got to see everything. So, I propose you to listen to Sakura Gakuin songs, the original group where Babymetal was created as a sub unit, its really fun and you can understand our girls background since they where little. Su was amazing at Wembley singing Akatsuki as well. One of the best moments of Babymetal live performances.

SU does some solos mid show to give the dancers a break. Backstage they got ice packs on them and pounding water otherwise they would overheat. There have been a few ambulance rides for those little girls from overheating.

Not surprised you haven't heard this one! Since it has no official MV, it's less known! Usually in the middle of the show there is SU that has a solo to give the other 2 a break, and viceversa the other 2 do a duo song while SU rests a bit :D Yes, I remember seeing another reaction or 2 from yuo guys :D

Nice reaction. All the elements that went on there is amazing. Starting with Su started singing that song from the top of the staging. Giving even the folks in the nosebleed section their monies worth. A lift brought her down and then some stairs and right back into singing. You get a line about running for 24 hours and the drums just go for what feels like 24 hours. Boh on bass just being the bass god that he is. When they started doing their longer concerts like this one. They took breaks in the middle. Su would do her solo song. Yui and Moa would do their Black Babymetal duo song. The running joke back then was Yui and Moa were doing their homework while Su was singing. Since they were still in school at the time. I wonder if the folks they were in school with realized their classmate is an international star. This song is a Babymetal fan gem. You don't get to this song until you're a fan. Moa says when Su sings it's like an angel came down. They acted that out at the beginning of this performance. I think they're trying to tell us something. No rhythm guitarist, dual lead. Not saying there's never a rhythm part. So I am unsure if you were referring to the musical line or the guitarist himself. The guitarists pass the parts around to suite the song. There does seem to be some hierarchy as the senior guitarist is always stage right, next to the bass. Mikio Fujioka (seen here stage right) was definitely senpai to all the other guitarists, but I have seen many performances where he was just laying down the rhythm part while the other guitarist was shredding the lead piece. The kamiband of the west may do things differently. But so far they have been a fixed lineup, also.

If you use the Reactor Resource or any other videos that normally get blocked on youtube, you can actually watch the original video (without the logo) and then add the translucent logo in post so you can better see what's going on. You may have been doing that here, and if so that's great! Just wanted to mention it in case you weren't aware. This was not their first song of the night; they usually started with Babymetal Death until 2018 when it was replaced mostly by In the Name Of. Su had solos like this one so that Yui and Moa could take a break backstage, and then Yui and Moa would perform their own songs while Su rested. If you want to check one of those out, I would suggest either GJ! from this same show at Wembley, which is also on the Reactor Resource channel, or Onedari Daisakusen at the London Forum in 2014, which is on mine.
