Great reaction, thanks! Yes, this was the show opener for their concert Live at Budokan Black night Legend Doomsday held on March 2nd 2014 at the famous Nippon Budokan. Budokan stadium is a martial arts arena built to held the judo competition for the Tokyo 1964 Summer Olympics. It's considered a very prestigious music venue, a life goal for any Japanese artist. They performed there two consecutive nights when they were just 16 and 14 years old and returned in 2021 to held 10 more shows. Song's name is actually "BABYMETAL Death" and that was a really good version. But not as shocking as the Legend 1997 one. The name of the song and the lyrics are a play on words with "desu" which means "I am" or "we are" and mispronounced sounds like "death". So they are basically introducing themselves. It was used for years as a show opener until Yui's departure. And they recovered it in 2023 with the addition of Momometal. Until next time! 🤘🦊

'BABYMETAL Death' was the first song on the first album and it really is the perfect introduction since that was what they were doing throughout - introducing themselves by name. They do love a pun or a play on words and this song is right up among the best of those. As the perfect introduction they would usually use it as the opening number in their concerts right up to the end of 2017 when Yui stopped performing. We were afraid they would never use it again, but on 1st April 2023 Momometal was revealed as an official member of the band and 'BABYMETAL Death' returned so they could start introducing themselves again. They used it as the opening number for the 90+ concerts they played last year from then on. On special occasions they may use it later in the concert, but with more theatrics. This is a good version, but some people will have been hoping you would watch the Legend 1997 performance - that was one of those special occasions (Su-metal's 16th birthday) and the theatrics were way beyond what anybody might have been expecting ... and it was the grand finale for that particular concert.

" Legend 1997 Apocalypse Live " really is the version to watch to give you a better idea of the significance of this song - it's one of these songs that is better if you understand the back story to it . I'd suggest - " Rondo of Nightmare " with the Kami band intro - as being worth watching and also - Bring Me The Horizon + Babymetal " Kingslayer " live in Tokyo - as DEFINITELY worth watching - one of the best metal collabs EVER !

Somebody did you wrong Legend 1997 version is just special. Not that this one is bad but 1997 is just next level.

Actually, the title of the song is "BABYMETAL DEATH" - honest mistake. This is my second favorite version (Budokan Black Night (2014)) - my favorite (and, although it may presumptuous, most everyone else of The One) is the "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" version. I suggest you do a reaction video to that version - I guarantee it will be VERY different from this reaction. HOWEVER, if you have strong religious feelings, it is best that you take a pass on it - I have seen some reacters get a bit upset watching it and one even refused to post his reaction to it. I tend to remind folks that 1) it is all theatrics, and 2) NOT A CULT!!! And since BABYMETAL is good at taking various genres of music and applying their kawaii metal to it, the "Legend 1997" version of "BABYMETAL DEATH" is their swing at "shock rock" (think Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, etc.). Also, rather than being the opening song, in this version, it is their closing song - you'll see why if you react to it. I'm sure I mentioned this before but why not do a reaction video(s) to an entire BABYMETAL concert? You can find some outstanding concert playlists on the KZfaq channel of HEAD123456. This is not the best performance of this song you could have chosen. It's not that they performed it badly, there's just not the usual 'theatre' that's usually associated with Death. The crosses. The crucifixion, the fire etc. This is not Death as it is normally experienced. You need to watch the Legend 1997 version, THAT'S more representative of the song.
