This is a simplified version of crucifixion. A full on theatrical performance set was performed years ago. The difference is they crucified only Su before, and they crucified all three of them this time.😂😂😂

Not only does 'SU-METAL DESU' mean she's introducing herself, it's also her super-hero transformation phrase. Like on Sailor Moon, Usagi says 'Moon Prism Power!' and turns into Sailor Moon, Suzuka Nakamoto shouts 'I AM SU-METAL' and becomes possessed by the spirit of the Fox God and transforms into the Metal Goddess SU-METAL. The magical girl who transforms into a hero is a huge trope in Japan, comparable to Disney princesses in the west. Whoever posted that comment about the guitar solo was tripping, that was not Takayoshi's solo (and I don't know what fancam he saw or heard from this show either - any fancams at Japanese shows are probably recording from inside someone's pocket), that was CJ Masciantonio playing that solo. It may have been tidied up for the BluRay, but not much if at all - it sounded pretty much exactly like that when he played it in London in November. 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first song on the first album. They had not played it live since 2017 because it is an intro song and they are introducing themselves by name, but they couldn't use it with just two official members and the original third member Yuimetal didn't appear at all after October 2017 and officially announced she was leaving the band in October 2018. This performance was on 2nd April 2023 - the first concert with Momometal as an official member, so 'BABYMETAL Death' was back ... I don't know if you heard the crowd cheer particularly loudly when she introduced herself as "Momometal desu". The whole song is based on a pun. The English word death sounds to a Japanese speaker like the Japanese word desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means to be - as in I am, we are, it is etc. Basically the lyrics for this song are: "B_A_B_Y_M_E_T_A_L" ... "I am Su-metal", "I am Moametal", "I am Momometal" "We are BABYMETAL" ... "Death Death Death Death Death Death Death Death". You got a hint of the sort of thing they do and the theatrics at the start of this performance when they play 'BABYMETAL Death' ... I don't remember if you've seen the Legend 1997 performance where they were celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday. Being an introduction song they would normally play it right at the start of the concerts (it is a great way to get the crowd hyped and joining in straight away), but that was one of the special occasions where they played it later in the show - for that one it was the finale.

Can you think of a better intro to a show than this? It makes me so happy to hear the crowd cheer at Momoko at her first performance of this song. The song was like a welcome party for her. But the crowd is the real star of this performance, in my opinion. Who would not want to be there when seeing this?

To be precise it is in reality Desu. The whole title is an in joke. Desu simply means to be, but since it sounds the same they use Death. The wholext is in fact I am Sumetal, i am Moa Metal, i am MomoMetal, we are Babymetal.

There is another phenomenal heavy metal band from Japan. A band of all women who PLAY their own instruments, sing in English, and shred like crazy. They have a western sound and do not sound poppish. I think the solo in Death has always been arranged, somewhat "loosely", the same since the beginning. The ending run is generally always played the same no matter who was/is playing it. So I think someone just has a bad attitude about it and thinks it was "improvised" by a certain member at a certain time period. I think, except for the insanely fast diminished runs and arpeggios in the middle, which is usually improvised differently by different guitarists, the solo was always meant to be structured the same way coming out of it and back into the main riff.

No, there is no validity to claim that the solo is edited in. I was at the concert where this was filmed, and that is what Chris played on the night.

No there are simply fans who are still waiting for proofs that the Western Kami Band was wecker than the old Kami Band. The simple truth is, the old Kami Band is simply to big and the musicians have to many solo projects to jumper when Babymetal calls. So they established a second band with American musicians for their Western Concerts, but now they more or less replaced the old Band.

There's a word for whoever said that about the guitar solo and YT would censor it. He has no idea what he is talking about.
