Makuhari Messe is a venue outside Tokyo, Japan. I was at the Los Angeles show. : ) The audio is from the LA Forum. The supporting dancer there was Riho Sayashi, and it was Momoko Okazaki at the Legend Metal Galaxy show. BABYMETAL is officially the duo of Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, lead singer) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi). The Kami Band musicians (The Kami Band of the West) for both shows were Chris Kelly (Guitar), C.J. Masciantonio (Guitar), Clint Tustin (Bass) and Anthony Barone (Drums)

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. OK you did expect a lot of info so I'll try to keep it short, but I'll apologise in advance for it getting too long. Their name 'BABYMETAL' is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons: - to symbolize that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal) - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun): BABYMETAL = ベビメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru) heavy metal = ヘビメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru) They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of the J-Pop Idol group Sakura Gakuin. Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. In 2013 they separated from Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right. Sadly Yuimetal left the band in October 2018 after a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo, so the third girl in this video was one of three dancers (Riho, Kano and Momoko) who supported Su and Moa from 2019 through 2021 taking turns to dance in the third spot.. Their backing band, the Kami Band, were phased in gradually from October 2012 playing festivals and encores in some shows. They became the full time backing band from the Budokan shows in 2014. If you see musicians in a video wearing skeleton suits that is not the Kami Band, that is the Babybones and they were miming the instruments to a backing track - they were there for show (BABYMETAL didn't start with a big budget and couldn't afford a live band early on. No pretence was made otherwise, everybody knew what they were doing). The Kami Band are the ones in traditional white burial robes and white corpse face paint (more recently in black robes and now wearing masks ... nobody likes the masks). The Kami Band are among Japan's very best session musicians and can play anything. They do swap out members now and then as they all have their own bands and projects, but they have had a hard core of about 6 or 7 who have played the vast majority of BABYMETAL's concerts. For the 2019 and 2020 US and European tours the Kami Band of the West (American musicians from Galactic Empire on guitars and bass, Anthony Barone on drums) were introduced. This video had the Western Kami Band. Generally if you hear growls or screams in a BABYMETAL song it will be on the backing track which includes any additional instruments (piano, synth etc and some harmonies) - everything else is always live. BABYMETAL have about 50 songs, every one of them is different, so they never get boring and you have a lot more real treats to discover. Live performances are where they are always at their very best. Perhaps for your next reaction try 'Catch Me If You Can' live at Budokan Black Night in 2014 or 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan in 2015 (but this one does get blocked so you may have to cover the video with a transparent logo or something).

Nice reaction. Babymetal has a wide variety of metal songs. And they are not afraid to mix it all together. Songs next Headbanger from Legend 1997. Or Catch Me If You Can with kamiband Intro. Both are the original line up of Babymetal. Su-metal the lead singer, Yuimetal and Moametal as backup vocals and dance and hype ladies. Yui left officially in 2018. But stopped performing with Babymetal in 2017 all due to an undisclosed health issue. Which means that's not Yui in the video you just watched. This is definitely a more recent, mature sounding Babymetal... And a definite vibe. I'm pretty sure that some of the footage is from day 2 of the Legend Metal Galaxy concerts that were held at Makuhari Messe, Japan. All of their concerts in Japan are next level... The staging, the lighting, the theatrics, definitely a sight to behold. May I suggest that you try the live version of "Headbanger", from the Legend 1997 concert... This "Kagerou" in 3-girl formation was premiered in the world at Hard Rock Live in Orlando on Sep.4, 2019. BABYMETAL has two Kami Bands : "East" and "West". The band in this video is West composing of 4 super American musicians. You are going to receive tons of information about BM from many fans in various countries. I just talk about how their activities are worldwide. In the latest world tours from June 2019 through March 2020 (prior to COVID), they performed live 20 times in USA, 19 in EU/UK/Russia and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan. Last year, they carefully restarted their activities and completed 10 serial concerts here in Tokyo taking very strict countermeasures against infection. I witnessed their shows at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿

Good reactions👊🏽⚡️The name Babymetal makes more sense in Japanese. It is almost identical to the word heavy metal. The producer (Koba-metal) explained that he chose the name because they were birthing a new style of metal.

I think it is an adult love song and rare for them. So to the fans from the old time and which like their kawaii side, it might make fans a bit sad or confused.. I am not so old fan, so I love it.
