As you saw last week, I loved the first 3 stages during the Velo 29 event, 3 Days in Yorkshire. Stage 4 was also an excellent route, and an opportunity for me to assess my fitness over multiple hard stages. All went well up until 119km in, and then a big crash, followed by 2 weeks in hospital, operations and the need for a period of recovery.
Many thanks to all in the NHS who helped me, and to my friends for their roadside assistance and care until the ambulance arrived. I'll post some videos of the rehabilitation, but for the next 2-3 weeks it's likely there will be a pause whilst I continue an important part of my rehab and hopefully lay the ground for a full recovery
Thanks to everyone for the many messages of support and best wishes - it is massively appreciated !!

Goodness Phil! After hearing you describe your injuries, I am glad to see that you are still with us, and on the road to recovery. I am not sure if you realize just how much of a positive influence you have been on peoples' lives. You are the reason I joined Zwift, and therefore were the catalyst to my improved health and fitness. In an often dark world, you have always been a source of light, and I knew I could always click on a video and see you full of positive energy, and with a big smile on your face.. I am so glad to see that light still shines from within you, and I look forward to seeing it grow brighter as you continue to get stronger during your recovery. Wishing you a speedy recovery Phil.

Pardon my French but, Holy f***ing shit, Phil!! I am so glad you are "ok" relatively speaking. Kind of ironic, the very types of activities that put you in the position to endure these types of injuries are the same activities that make you tough enough to withstand them and recover from them. I'm sure you're in a boatload of discomfort and pain, both mentally and physically, I genuinely hope you get to feeling better rapidly. My very best to you and Jayne!

Big ups for wearing a helmet and having good people around who had the knowledge to handle the situation properly. Cheers.

Wow, my first time seeing this! Sorry you had such a traumatic accident and injuries, I hope you made a full recovery. I made a video of my 'minor' accident last week and count myself very fortunate worse didn't happen, I managed to keep pedaling 40 miles home. Your video has made me suddenly very grateful and thankful! I'm pleased that you kept going with your videos and providing much inspiration to us all. Keep up the fantastic work!
