I need to make a decision on what I do with all the silage in our clamp. So I've given you a couple of options in the video. Also directly after this video, we're going live with the Christmas special and I'd love to get as many of you on the livestream as possible!

COMMUNITY CHALLENGE!!! - 1000 VIEWER LIVESTREAM
Tomorrow (Saturday 16th December) at 9pm UK time (10pm CET, 3pm Central, 10am NZ) I'm doing a live stream with a group of folk from the community. 1 HOUR BEFORE there will be an episode of The Contractor Series. On average I get around 1000 views in the first hour the video is released. HERE IS YOUR CHALLENGE... In regards to whether you load the bunker silage into trailers for hauling or using the static baler to bale it all for hauling, from my perspective it's the time side of things. The bales will always be a quicker way to get it all to the sales point and you'll find that with the amount of silage you have and the 2 bale trailers you have, you'd be able to get it there in 1 trip with you and Wes hauling the bales to the sell point, whereas loading it into the trailers for hauling, will take roughly 10 trips to the sales point. That just leaves the hiring fee, as you said, you'll make the hiring fee back and some, so if you're looking at it from a time perspective, definitely go for baling it. Maybe you could talk to Clive while you're in Calmsden, and see if you can hire one off him and bring it back with you on your way back from Calmsden, just to cut down on the hiring fee.

In my opinion I would sell it in trailers, without any extra coats of renting the static baler, although also I would love to see a static baler working. Well done for this amazing series.

I’m watching this post-live stream. I so enjoyed that live stream today. You set that up perfectly. I know that had to take a lot of time with all the planning and coordinating. Thanks for the great live stream. I would love to see that static bailer work but it just seems counterproductive to me. If it were me, I would just haul it down there loose.

Its also more realistic to leave the bales fermenting because if they are not fermented and you get in there with a balespike you let air in which isnt good...

I'm probably a little late, but I don't think the static balers will work on fermented silage. I could be wrong though.

Be good to see the static baler in use, but you'd be losing the rental costs in your profit. You'll need to run to the sell point anyway, so just aswell do it loose and maximise your income

Daggerwin did the static baler quite some time ago. I would love to see you use it, as now I have a use for it. I got to your live stream a little late and it was great to see you all working on Calmsden. Love that may and have over 1500 hours on. Love Court Farms, I think I was intimidated with it, but starting slow. Love this series FSG Merry Christmas

Consider doing a 10-15 mins highlights of the stream. Some people just don't have the 3 hours to watch the stream.

Trailer the silage, no reason to add addition costs, unless you were going to go to grab grass into loading wagons.

Yes, Livestreams now have their own tab at the top of the channel page, or if you scroll down a bit I have a section called previous live streams 👍 KZfaq changed it, I don't like it as much as the old way.

For the silage is there any financial gain to them being baled. If not just trailer it lose to the sale point. I mean u are in business to maximize profits not lease unnecessary equipment. Don't solve a problem that isn't there

They are forage contracts, so silage wouldn't be accepted
