In this episode of Solomon's Outdoor Adventures (formerly Solomon's Vegas Adventures), Solomon, Aaron, Angel, and Benjamin backpacked Hayford Peak, a high peak located in the Sheep Range north of Las Vegas, as well as searched for the infamous "M Cave".
This video was filmed in August 2021 but is being released now. Hayford Peak is the highest point of the Sheep Range, at 9912' above sea level. Accessing the trailhead requires driving about 20 miles on dirt roads, and a 4x4 high clearance vehicle is a necessity. The hike is roughly 20 miles long in cumulative distance with an elevation gain of 4000', and features a plethora of interesting stops, including what may be the infamous "M Cave", Hidden Forest, and the Hidden Forest Cabin. This is a great hike outside of Las Vegas that offers the hiker solitude and great views. Camping the night before is recommended, but this hike can be done as a day hike (albeit a long one).
