Backpacking in Glacier National Park: The Highline Trail

This is a montage of short 30 second (give or take) clips I took at various points along the Highline Trail during a recent backpacking trip to Glacier National Park in July of 2009. This is one of the more well known trails in the park and my second favorite to Swiftcurrent Pass. Notice the first 1/4 mile is roughly 3 feet wide with a 200 foot drop off the side. Thankfully there is a guidewire bolted into the wall.

Great video! My girlrfriend and I are going to attempt this hike at the end of the month, and this is helping me to psychologically prepare for it... I'm a bit afraid of heights >_

More worried about a gun than a bear? Obviously the guy who said that hasn't experienced guns like us native Montanans. I grew up in Columbia Falls and have hiked here my whole life with a gun, does that make me a criminal? I'll bet he would appreciate an experienced marksman if he found himself in a pinch with a wild predator. Most who grew up here are very good with guns, I've never seen anyone get shot. Anti-gun groups create a fear of guns. I wonder if he's deathly afraid of other tools?
