Just finished up 2 Jetski rebuilds 1996 SL 780 & SLX 780 I replaced the stator and Ignition BOX ( which is in the CDI ) and got a spark and it to work ( SL 780 ) Steps id take to spend the least amount of money on fixxing this is 1. Take out the main board in the CDI (Yes unplug it all and unscrew it ) Now Just the board its self Put it in the oven for 10 mins at 300F and see if you get a spark 2. replace the Ignition BOX 3. Stator

The people who left all the garbage out there should be ashamed of themselves… Scumbags. Bus is gone now. Way to go. Damn dirty humans. Just can’t help themselves.

I bet most of the rubbish is actually from some of the locals on their ATV's, most hikers carry light food meals as weight is an issue on long hikes. A lot of the rubbish i have seen at the bus is mainly cans and bottles and assorted plastic waste. Canned food and slabs of beer are a bit out of a hikers league dont you think...

Videos like these are the only place people who never had a chance to make it to the bus will be able to see the true final resting place of Chris. As earlier this week (June 18th 2020) it was helicoptered out of the area by the Alaskan Army National Guard. Rest in Peace Chris

Just finished reading Into the Wild. It was a gripping story, and Chris' life was an interesting one... I'm curious about the journal you mentioned signing. Do all people who visit the bus sign that journal?

Watching this I have a few questions in my mind, i have only seen the movie, when it first came out it fascinated me, I hope to get around to reading the books soon. Is everything in the bus still authentic? It wouldn't surprise me if people have taken things from it or possibly put in things that are fake such as letters etc. Why wouldn't any of this stuff be taken and archived somewhere and preserved? Why isn't the bus preserved in general? I find it odd how it's a universally adored movie and thousands of people haven't destroyed it yet. Personally I would find it difficult to even step foot in the bus, out of respect for Christopher.

@mitchcarlson99629 жыл бұрын
The hike, from the parking lot of the swift current motor Inn to the tunnel and back is about a 7 hour hike. If i remember, it's about 11 miles. And it isn't an easy 11 miles. Also. Even though is the ptarmigan trail, the "p" is silent. So it's pronounced tarmigan.

I know Chris has some haters... I just want to point out that yeah, he didn't tell his parents, and he was very privileged... And sometimes parents pies some people off... and sometimes money doesn't bring happiness... this was a man who did what his heart wanted him to do.. and he had the guts to do it. I have respect for him

It seems to me McCandless's goal in all of this was to right the wrongs he believed he had comitted by living an upper class life, while others are poor and starving. He sought to live like the poorest of the poor, who are at risk of dying from any number of things each day.

@Lynviking committing suicide means he consciously chose to end his life. Making a death causing mistake is not a conscious choice, so in no essence did he commit suicide. Dying was not his goal; he tried to cross the river but it was too high.
