Backroad Blast - Kawasaki ZXR250

Been pretty busy lately with University exams and work but managed to get out this weekend. The ZXR has had a fair amount of work done to it in the last few months, mainly maintenance stuff (clutch, plugs, throttle cables, sprockets and chain, brake master cylinder and some cosmetic stuff).
Went for a ride a few weeks ago with the Italian motorcycle owners club on the Kawasaki (they let me tag along cause of the Ducati 748SPS in my garage hehe). It managed to keep up with a few of the fast guys and it didn't fault once.
I'll upload a video of a ride on the 748SPS in the future and maybe the old man's 749s, if he lets me, but the plan is to keep the SPS as a low km collectors bike. When I eventually get my full licence (in a bit under a year) I want to keep the ZXR but fully restore it to mint and park it up alongside the Ducati. As for my full bike, I am thinking maybe a GSXR 750. They seem to be great value and with their figures they must be pretty close to a litre bike in terms of performance....
So yeah i'll keep you updated, for anyone that is following haha.

Sick bike. Sick video. This is a super cool example of how young kiwi riders gain experience a lot quicker and are a lot safer on the roads than American young riders. Fully geared up, proper bike, proper roads, proper concentration, proper cornering. ride on ma dude

OMG dude you just make me miss my little ninja! I was lucky enough to score a 1700km ZX2-R SP (factory race cams and dial on the fly rear shock) with a fresh race replica paint job back in the day. Love to see people riding sensibly on Kiwi roads. Stay safe bro!

Nice zxr mate my first bike was a 91 c model , and then a few yrs after i found and bought a stunning 1990 a2 zxr , miss them.

While I would die for this little ZXR250R, my baby and one of my most lusted after "little liters" is the MC22 CBR250RR, with a bunch of Tyga goodies(rearsets, exhaust, protection ECT), AS Uotani Full Power ignition, FCR Flatsides, and potentially either a full set of Saitaniya 600rr Carbon or Carbon/Kevlar (probably Kevlar if leaving "unpainted") complete conversion fairings and rear cowl (cyclops version), or their "original" looking full Carbon or Carbon/Kevlar fairings 😅

Its an amazing ride, isnt it. Love the esthetics and sound of it. And coming from a gsx600f its much more fun in the corners! I have an -89 A. Mines not running atm after I did a carb rebuild :C Hard to tune the carbs to run well. It starts fairly easily and runs ok but has a bad idle and if i kill it its almost impossible to restart again. Saw you wrote youve rebuilt two of these. Do you have a similar experience with carb tuning? Any tips? Im at 2fiftycc forums and there're a great group of helpful riders there too.

I had one of these until it snapped a camshaft and smashed the head up at 18k.. broke my heart

Greetings mate from Philippines 🇵🇭, I'm having problem with compression, I only got 26 psi on cylinder 1, 70 psi on cylinder 2, and 68 psi on cylinders 3 and 4. What psi is within the spec? Model A repair manual is really tricky to find.
