Braves had two NBA Firsts, They had the first Big 4 with Randy Smith at the 2, Adrian Dantley at the 3, Bob McAdoo at the 4, and Moses Malone at the 5, with Ernie D at the Point, (for 2 days until idiot owner started the sell off.) They had the talent to win the Championship, but alas. Secondly it was not the Lakers that started "Showtime", the Braves were the first 6 Seconds or less, their fast break was legendary, Smith pushed it hard everytime and Ernie D hit guys with his up to 40 foot behind the back passes right on the money. It was unstoppable when they got it going. McAdoo and Smith etc. were before Magic and Worthy etc.

So Ernie Digregorio's superior talent wasn't just demonstrated by the astonishing behind the back classic pass to Kevin Stacom for a layup for Providence in The 1973 NCAA Tournament. He came close to reaching that level on a number of occasions. The Buffalo Braves from 1971 to 1974 had an insanely stacked Roster and they merited an NBA World Championship or two because of it! Cool Logos also.🤔🏀B.W.

Your right - he played 3 minutes over 2 games in 1976 as a 21-year old. October 18, 1976: Traded by the Portland Trail Blazers to the Buffalo Braves for a 1978 1st round draft pick (Rick Robey was later selected). October 24, 1976: Traded by the Buffalo Braves to the Houston Rockets for a 1977 1st round draft pick (Wesley Cox was later selected) and a 1978 1st round draft pick (Micheal Ray Richardson was later selected).

Thanks for making this video but I think you got the facts a little wrong. The Braves played from 1970-78. They were bought from Paul Snyder of Freezer Queen and Darien Lake Amusement Park fame by Kentucky governor John Y. Brown and his gorgeous Miss America 1971 wife Phyllis George who worked for CBS. Irv Levin wanted to move his Celtics team to California but he knew he would be murdered by Boston fans if he did so he traded teams with John Y. Brown and moved the Braves to San Diego. That's how disgusted Buffalonians like me understand it. As a result I practically ignored basketball ever since.

Never knew about the real story on why the Braves moved to Southern California until now. There was a simple solution here. Keep the Braves in Buffalo. And give Levin an expansion team for San Diego/LA. Not that complicated especially since the 4 ABA teams had just joined the league.

@@americangiant1003 I agree but Paul Snyder bought the Braves to make a profit. He knew it was his last chance to buy a pro basketball team for a few million dollars, and they had trouble scheduling home games all along because college teams had first dibs on using Memorial Auditorium, so Snyder sold them for a big profit to Brown who got a team like he wanted and the Celtics owner took the Braves to California so everyone was happy except the Braves fans who got completely fucked.
