I just realized. 4 has the tamest fate yet in the bad timelines. Sanitization and furitization is an awful fate, but 4 would just be given the Hypno Shades. And we know from Callie that it’s able to be reversed, or at the very least, contained. 4 definitely has it better then 3, 8, and 3.0

Neo Agent 3 - Once a free spirit, now an oblivious one. Wild beasts are *chaos* incarnate. Agent 8 - Subdued, sanitized, and ready to become fuel. *Order* up. Agent 4 - An ally turned enemy. No *inkantation* will reach your ears. Captain Agent 3 - Once a hero, now a villain. Did you consider pressing *Try again?*

Neo Agent 3: fuzzy ink beast Agent 8: sanitized Agent 4: Brainwashed Agent 3: Hijacked Nintendo sure did get creative on how dark the bad endings of Splatoon are.

8, 4, and Captain 3: *Mind controlled New Agent 3: “Uh… meow?”

It's weird thiking that all agents are kinda Kids when they start the story mode, and they face really disturbing battles that are bigger than everything, really sad, but at the end we kinda forget the challenges and pain they pass through, its good that someone cares about the other endings in this very cinematographic form.(now nintendo need an anime about splatoon)

Finally more people putting the shades on agent 4 instead of her being sanitized 10/10

It's interesting because we don't get much information regarding fuzzy octolings, unlike sanitized octolings. The idea that some or even all inklings/octolings just straight up become mammals is fascinating. Just imagine that in the bad ending, where everyone becomes fuzzy, they eventually begin to morph from fuzzy balls to terrifying beasts.

I love how crazy Neo, Capt'n, and 8 looked after the bad ending, as 4 just got a cool fit and some nice shades.

hi i'm so normal about this [crams this animation into my mouth lovingly] also i just have to say capn 3's shot where theyre pulling their cap down and looking smug is SUCH a good expression. its giving phoenix wright in ace attorney 4 vibes to me and i dont know if it was a conscious decision or a stylistic choice but im OBSESSED with neo 3 having individual teeth and fangs when theyre mammalified as opposed to that solid beak inklings normally have. that mammalian design in general is making me feral its so good

To me, neo 3’s bad end look feels like they went insane with the guilt of having the entire world end along with the fuzzy ooze being a constant reminder of that guilt making them go truly insane.

I love the little twist you had on Neo 3 becoming a fuzzy ooze monster! Especially since in the games they just…turn into a fuzzball.

How did we go from goofy squids having fun together to legit horror?? Like Neo 3 is genuinely unsettling, good work

we really went from "haha sploon cast on funny sitcom plot" to "failure has a cost hero..."

Theoretically 4 is the one with the best ending because he can get rid of control simply by removing his glasses. Meanwhile, Neo 3 has turned into a mammal, 8 is literally dead and 3 is probably dead too

I unfortunately got the fuzzball ending first because i was inkredibly anxious and i freaked out last second. I was horrified. I AM horrified. That music, with the inkling and octolings yelling in pain, the fuzzy octarians making their presence known. I hated it. Every second. I failed two more times, re-witnessing the true horror that I failed to prevent. My god I am traumatized.

God, I can’t get over how absolutely frightening this is. I find myself often cutting the game short of how truly terrifying the lore can get (especially with the addition of Neo 3). This animation is so simple, yet it just adds to the eerie and disturbing vibe. The silhouettes of each villain is such a great detail. I think I’m gonna find myself coming back to this video more than once in the future

Incredibly impressive, especially your own takes on what happens to to 4 and neo 3, since in game, the fuzzified inklings are just comedic fuzzballs while in splat 2's story mode, agent 4's splat only has Callie yelling in despair. (That art of fuzzified neo 3 is incredible, so much more animalistic and primal than just, HAIR, and a bit of a tan.)

When I first played Octo expansion, I ended up running out of time against the final boss, thus got the alternative bad ending first. It was very surprising, and horrifying in all honesty. This video reminds me of said shock and awe.

I just realized this, but I love the differences in the Agent’s expressions when confronted with their enemies. Neo seems extremely off-put, probably because she’s never seen anything even close to Grizz before. Eight is terrified. As Tartar reveals its true nature, she realizes that her hell has only just begun. Four is weirded out, an expression that to me reads “What is this guy’s deal?” Octavio is very goofy and eccentric, especially for the head of an entire race and their military. Finally there’s Captain 3, who looks at Tartar in a kind of awe. Just by seeing the true power of the sanitization, her mind is already corrupted. Either that, or she is simply bewildered by the spectacle before her. (Sry if I got any pronouns wrong, I headcanon them all as female)

Captain having her bad ending be her trauma of the metro is so stylistic and haunting, I love it

My own headcanon is that this animation is one of the captains "bad thoughts" like when ever they're hanging out, they just randomly think "What if anyone of us had lost?"

For a game about kids throwing ink at each other, the lore is dark as hell 😟

Whats interesting is if all of the bad endings had occurred, the octolings and inklings wouldve likely gone to war again after the disappearance of rhe great zap fish and callie, and while they fought, tartar wouldve enacted his plan to sanitize everyone. Grizz would be deep underground and likely unaffected by tartars plan, but would probably still try to use his fuzzy ooze on the sanitized ink. There could have been a war waged between the last relics of humanity, beasts and machines, with inklings and octarians caught in the middle as unwilling soldiers

Ok but that hypno agent 4 design goes so hard

i love that you can see that agent 4 is like "Whats wrong with this guy?" but you can also see the horror in her eyes considering before the story mode she was a regular student, whos never seen anything like this

I still think about how scary/cool the Captain would have been if they weren’t saved from their sanitation.

Fuzzy beast neo 3 looks really cool but scary looking since she's basically becomes the Splatoon series' equivalent to a werewolf

This is what happens when you play with stick controls. Jokes aside, man Splatoon can get pretty messed up in some ways if you think about it. Like if the bad guys win, the outcome can be pretty dark. You've captured that feeling pretty well with this. Good job! (Also rip Agents)

I just realized that Agent 3 is a part of every splatoon game. That also means 3 is forced to share the same fate as the others. Either losing to Octavio like Agent 4, getting sanitized by TarTar like Agent 8, or getting mammalfied by Mr. Grizz like Agent NEO 3

Ok, WOW. You absolutely nailed this animation. I’ve also been obsessed with the whole “bad ending” stuff for splatoon and seeing you make a video about it is just amazing. Also, I like the designs that you gave for Neo 3 and Agent 4, I’ve thought about what would happen if 4 lost the boss fight in splatoon 2 and what would happen to them, and maybe even how Marie would react. And I think your depiction of how 4 (and the rest of the agents) would look like if they lost is just perfect. Sorry for the rambles, brilliant work.

The Splatoon 2 octo expansion and Splatoon 3 story modes got into some weird crap than just an octopus guy who wanted to take care of his people.

Agent 4 has NO bad endings. She is just standing in the corner dancing while all the others die.

This is amazing! All of the characters have cool designs once the “bad ending” happens. Also if you think about it, Cap’n 3’s “bad ending” already happened. They were lucky enough tho that they were able to be cured.
