Is the Boeing 777X about to be delayed until 2026? Lufthansa's CEO seems to think so following new comments. Additionally, Emirates has forecasted a 2026 delivery since the beginning of 2024. These developments come as the aircraft manufacturer struggles to certify its new widebody jets and faces persistent questions in markets around the quality of its aircraft.

Emirates should have already ordered the A350-1000 as insurance, because they knew the B777X was delayed until 2026, and who would bet the delays are not longer? Instead, Clark has threatened Boeing with cancellation and criticised RR (for daring to charge more for their TC maintenance package on the XWB-97, than the 84). How to win friends and influence people? I introduce you to Sir Tim Arrogant Clark😀😀. Its inconceivable that Emirates will cancel the B777X, but they will have to order the A351 as well, engine upgrade or not, so better do it before Airbus take another big order this summer, or Emirates could have a lot of vintage aircraft by 2030............

Well, the real bad news is that: Not too many people here on KZfaq have ever tried to purchase a brand new jetliner lol. If you want to purchase a brand new Boeing 777-300er or Airbus A350-1000 right now, it may take another 5 years or so to get your first delivery. If you order a Boeing 777x, or the Airbus A350neo right now, it may take you a decade to get it. It is basically a supply-and-demand situation but more complicated. Lufthansa, Emirates, and many financial institutions and leasing companies have already signed their purchase agreements years ago. They signed their agreements without knowing too much about the end products, because they need to consider about many other factors, including their business plan, delivery schedule, and more importantly, financial and discount. You never know their deals. So, if any bad things happen, such as the several issues on the 737 Max, delivery delaying, all the stakeholders will need to work together in order to rectify the problems. It's not like you can just piss off Boeing and walk-in into an Airbus dealer like buying pants from Marshalls or Walmart.
@frankpinmtl
@frankpinmtl 25 күн бұрын
Huh? No. You can get an A350-1000 a lot sooner. Airbus is bumping production to 12 a month - 144 a year. Backlog is 600, but Airbus has spots available, if you want them...Stop equating the two

I think the FAA at this point is waiting with their approval and certification of the 777X until Boeing got their internal restructuring properly done. They will also have to wait and see if all these measures have actually any effect on the manufacturing of Boeing aircraft, this will take a lot of time, certainly longer than summer 2027.

Brit here, never been sure of the FAA, always been in Boeings pocket but if its the FAA now holding up the 777x then maybe the FAA is getting back to what it should have been. That said, all the delays are to my mind Boeing being forced to do it right for a change. Would not do anybody any good if one fell out of the sky with over 400 on board. I think 2027 is an early variant launch to customers. There must be very serious problems with this aircraft and I do not care if you’re the biggest Boeing fan or not… Yes the FAA will force a delay until they are 200% sure it’s a safe aircraft. At the moment it’s obviously not! If I was waiting to the arrival of a new wide body I would be asking what the. A350 production line ie if I can order them.. within a shorter period of time!! Lufthansa I imagine have capable people re this? But one thing the A380 was not brought in by Lufty because of the late arrival of the 777x.. only to wrangle a further discount They need the A380 because of huge increased load factors which the 777x couldn’t fill even if fully functioning

The first few years of the delay was problems with the new engines - which is due to GE, not Boeing. Except maybe Boeing should have hedged their bets by offering buyers a choice of engines, as Airbus often does. But the current delays are from the from the FAA being really tough on certifying it. Since the 737MAX disaster the FAA no longer trusts Boeing at all (who can blame them?) and thoroughly questions absolutely everything they do. They've kinda lurched from one extreme to the other.

At this rate Rolls Royce will have their engine issues addressed for Emarites with the A350 before this plane flies for a carrier. They now have at least 3 different aircraft types they can't seem to even get approved. B737-Max 7, B737-Max 10 and the 777X. The B787 seems to be having delivery problems as well, but at least they are approved by the FAA. They seem to have lost their way. Airlines are losing business because they can't operate a planned full schedule due to pushed back delivery dates. It just seems to getting worse at Boeing. I can sure understand Airline Executives' conundrum. I wonder if any of this has to do with them outsourcing a lot of their Enginering to Mumbai, India? It's not that Indian Engineers are a problem, but being that far away can make communication with Corporate more difficult and it's easier for Bean Counters at Boeing HDQ to override them.

While Boeing deserves blame for lots of things, there are 15 finished 777x planes sitting on the ramp in Everett without engines. You can even see it on Google maps or Apple Maps. Most of the delay is due to GE. It would be accurate to reflect that in the report.
