"As usual". I love HMS but I would disagree. This is the first year that they've really been back to their true form. For as long as I can remember they've only seemed to have one driver that was really hammering down and winning shit while the rest underperformed. These last few years it was Chase, then before that it was Junior in those 2 really good seasons he had, and of course Johnson was always consistent up until the end. I think you'd really have to look back to like the late 00's when you had Johnson Gordon and Martin all together to see the true HMS

The best Cup Series driver to never win a race, statistically, was Cecil Gordon. His best finishes were 3rd in '71 and '73. Harvick having finishing third in 2021 according to the original points format brought him to mind.

Yes, but both of them had significantly worse seasons overall. Harvick went from 9 wins to 0, and Aric went from 6 top 5’s and 18 top 10’s to 2 top 5’s and 5 top 10’s.

@@firemarblefilms First time Harvick went winless since 2009 which was one the worst seasons of his entire career and after Aric scored SHR's lone victory of 2021 He would have finishes between 14th-26th along with an 18.9 Average Finish in the following 12 races before ending the 2021 season on a positive note with back to back 6th place finishes at Martinsville & Phoenix which was his lone Top 10 streak of the entire 2021 season for Aric Almirola

@@GatoradeCupSeriesX94 Custer has potential for sure, but I’m not sure SHR is his place. It’s early enough in his career, he could end up like Logano, how he did bad for JGR all else considering and went to Penske and became one of the best of todays racers (stats wise). Custer might just need to wait for another decent ride to open and try and go for it. He was really good in xfinity, and for the most part he’s pretty good at not tearing up the equipment besides a couple issues where he could’ve prevented it. I don’t think he will ever be a great, but I think he could definitely be good if he finds better chemistry somewhere else or even within SHR.

@@smunger69 Here’s the problem, Custer is not Logano, Logano during the early 2010’s wasn’t a playoff contender but was running for top 15’s. Custer only got two top10’s last year and spent every week running 25th. Suarez in the same car was running for a playoff spot until the team collapsed mid-season

Because SHR ONLY focuses on the 4 team. Everyone else ran like garbage ever since Kurt left. Custer has only led 7 laps in 2 seasons by running 25th every week while Suarez outperforms him every week. Bowyer only was extended a year after 2019 because the 41 team collapsed mid-season, and only got 2 wins in 4 seasons and was on the chase bubble for THREE seasons. Almirola who had one good season in 2018 peaked right as when people thought he would be a “championship contender”. Because since then, he finished lower than 13th in points in the next 3 seasons, two first round exits, went several months without a top 10 in 2019, and only scoring 2 wins in 4 years. One at a plate track which was GWC fuel mileage race, and the other was because the officiating HANDED him the win at New Hampshire by manipulating the outcome of the race twice and then proceeded to finish worse than 13th in the next 13 races. The only reason he has a ride is because of his Smithfield checks. I don’t care if he’s better than “Danica.” YOURE EXPECTED to perform better in that equipment than that abomination who did nothing but wreck cars.

@@Ktaurus26 Briscoe does have potential but I don't see anything in Custer, the ONLY reason he's even on the team or racing at all is because of his Dad's last name, why do you think Cole has had HAAS branding his entire career in the lower series? Through K&N and Trucks no matter what the team he ALWAYS had HAAS branding on his car. Custer hasn’t done ANYTHING in his cup career other than having a good “restart” at Kentucky. The package is the only reason Custer has a win. Look how Blaney won Michigan last year, best push.
