The "How did we get here" flashback... doesn't explain how they got there. How did Badrock track down Girth? How did he meet up with Gunner? Was she tracking down Girth on her own? Why? Did they exchange backstories when they met, or did Badrock already know her? What does "The Overlord" want with Badrock's dad? Why am I asking these questions? Why am I pretending to care?

Pilo. Fear ... it ... them? Whatever. Just fear.

You have no idea how much I was geeking out over the last ten minutes. To me, fleshing out the lore of a fictional universe is second only to characterisation in terms of how creative writing should be done, and to see so much potential set up here made me positively giddy with excitement. Also #TeamPilo.

My money is on the pile of rocks.

My advice for Pilo the rock? paper. Use paper, it's super effective.

Ya know, all these bad 90s comics actually gave me an idea for a video game. It's set in a superhero world with a history divided much like real life comics (Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Dark Age). It's set in the Dark Age of the world and you play as someone who starts out as a generic Liefeld character, but then got his memories restored by his old sidekick and he realized he was actually a Bronze Age Superhero who had his memory wiped. And after he sees what the world has become, he sets out to find other Bronze, Silver, and Gold Age heroes to help bring the world into a new age that's better than the current one. I don't know, I think it could be interesting.

ok, I've loved the story bits of this show for most, if not all, plotlines (it's been years. if there were any moments I didn't care for, I've forgotten them by now), but that meeting at the end has to be my favorite storyline piece in a long while, and I can't wait to see where this goes. also, inb4 the pile of rocks is the final opponent and they just challenge Linkara to a board game.

Comics from Image worth reading Savage Dragon, Wayward, Walking Dead,Spawn, Ringside, Hack/Slash(but not sure it was theirs to begin with but awesome comic) and Invincible. But if Linkara really wants to melt his brain on a bad/guilty pleasure comic from Image well that belongs to Noble Family.

A lot of Erik Larsen's Vicious Circle members are "here's the name, here's some powers I thought of while on the can, now watch Savage Dragon/Freak Force etc. beat on them", but even then, they're more generic when LIEFELD uses them. Liefeld's the kid who grabs action figures and thinks that just by his holding them, everything becomes a thousand times more EXTREME and AWESOME.

I was smiling from ear to ear in the story part. Man, that's cool stuff.

Kaijus, sentient piles of rocks, survivalists, sorcerers, and possibly an android along with everything under the sun. This version of a classic comic book favorite is going to be a strange one!

So we have a fellow magic user, one who uses alot more traditional magic to Linkara's More modern Magi-tech. An elite merc who has fought Jarris who has given Linkara a hard time in the past, A Kaiju, and an SCP, also apparently a lawyer corgi.

I Hope linkara does a US-1 #6 soon

Can you use the magic coin on Neutro? It'd be hilarous if there was a giant robot fight, and then Linkara turned his robot twice as gigantic with magic.

Oh, there are so many early Image comics to pick apart. In fact, after your review of Youngblood #2, I'd definitely like to see you pick apart issue one of the original ShadowHawk miniseries.

Dammit Linkara! Now I am super hyped for any and all interactions with Pilo. Also, at 16:33, maybe Badrock can also see how anatomically wrong she is, and is narrating his reaction... Probably not, but it makes about as much sense as if it was his reaction to her punching and kicking

The thing where Comicron One can assemble and disassemble a variety of smaller ships reminds me of Antaeus from the Hostile Waters game. Honestly still a neat idea, though Linkara might now get flooded with fan-made ship designs now that they know the option is open.

Hmm you know Linkara's 'anger, anger, and anger' joke made me think of something, I'd like to see a good artist (or just a not terrible one) redo this book with good art and see if that makes it feel any better like the dialogue would probably still suck but I'm curious how having it be primed with a different mental set up would make the book feel.

I think I actually have an bifricated image comic somewhere with Dart joining the Savage Dragon's precinct while HE is off fighting gargoyles (thankfully not Goliath) in New York City, when he comes across everyone's favorite sewer ninjas, and they were the genuine article. Cut in with that was some guy I don't really remember fighting some living flame type villain at a construction site. On the other side it was the adventures of some spaceman with antennae and fins on his head. Blue jumpsuit. I didn't buy it, but I did see it around my house from time to time.

Overlord and Lowblow (as well as Hellrazor and Cutthroat) are actually Savage Dragon characters appropriated for this comic during those couple years the Image boys were pretending they had a single universe. Badrock and other Youngblood guys appeared in Savage Dragon a few times too. Dragon arrested Badrock once, it was great. Also amusing: around the time Liefeld got kicked out of Image, there was a big Image crossover with Mars Attacks which ended up having big repercussions for Savage Dragon that would be felt for literal decades. Within Savage Dragon continuity, the official story is that Youngblood all died in the Martian attack, which led to Dragon starting up a new government sponsored superhero team. So a happy ending. By the way, believe it or not but Cutthroat became a really interesting character. What happens to a supervillain when they're too old to keep up? This was Cutthroat's story. But you can't give Liefeld the credit or the blame for that character.

Kaiju and Rocks... Love it.
