What i couldn't figure out ... what did baghead do that was bad? she was used and abused so got revenge. why do we assume she would have been a threat to anyone. let her out of the basement.

unfortunately this film introduced the origin of the of the baghead and that sounded like a way more interesting movie and story that the one we was getting.

Just left a few hours ago from seeing this in the theatre and not many reviews thus far. The only saving grace for me is that it was shot well. The dark aesthetic and lack of cast created an isolation for the main character (Iris). But the script was just terrible, so mish mash and the story itself didn’t make any sense. I was expecting many people to turn up asking to speak to loved ones who had passed away but just this one dude shows up. Character choices and decision making didn’t make any sense either. And ultimately, typical to throw in multiple jump scares instead of actually creating a sense of horror and dread. I see a horror movie in January, I guess I should know better 😂. One point on your video though. The film is not actually set in England. I thought this when I saw the euro notes. But I wondered why one of the characters was driving a left hand car and saw the number plate was actually either German or Netherlands I couldn’t tell. Also I’m sure iris takes a plane at the beginning of the movie too so I’m guessing it’s set elsewhere in Europe. A little jarring as all the characters have English accents. Thank for the video dude thoroughly enjoyed it!

Anyone else think the ending was so random

i think it would of been better as a book or tv series. given time to explore themes more and give more focus.

Saw it yesterday and it was enjoyable but tge name if the film was silly. Baghead because the evil in the basement sat with a bag over their head. Maybe a name like “Evil within” would have been a better choice

Most of the time it was a pretty looking horror. I just wasn't scared at any point. Too many score cues and forced jumpscares, I really despise this sort of horror. What happened to silence in horror movies?! It's way scarier and way cheaper!

I noticed by the layout and decor it wasn’t England, on the wiki it also states an unnamed European city, that would explain the euros

Peter Mullan was great in this film and brilliant in Ozark

I loved it. Wasn't expecting much as there was so much criticism but was pleasantly surprised.

We actually were able to understand about the witch and this made it more real, also social problems are relatable to everyone, it just keeps the film grounded and again more real. I did watch this by myself in the Cinema though, very scary for me.

It was an enjoyable film, good acting & decent storyline 😊

Better than most horror movies of the same genre that came out lately

Peter Mullen is superb you are correct about that. Loved him in Children of Men. I'll have to check out Tyrannosaur. Just at a glance that movie has a ridiculous cast. Also nice seeing Freya Allen in something other than Witcher since that's probably not doing her career any favors anymore.

i do however feel this film could make a really great stage show.

How did the witch cross the stairs to kill the friend? Or is it that the rules only apply when the landlord is there? I enjoyed it as a light ghost story that kills in less gorey ways but the questions are really urking me.

Actually British accent somewhat hard to understand when ur 2nd language is English 😭 but enjoy the movie

Glad I watched this stoned. Best way to avoid Bagman, don't use Bagman, what is gone is gone. But yea boring movie, the twists were predictable as fuck too. And Talk to Me was the superior movie, in every single way. *Edit: I subbed just for the "cellar in Wetherspoons" line, have em in Ireland too they suck.

This is one of those movies that start really good then steadily degrade while you watch it the end was horrible and its funny how there are no one in the world when she scream on the roof its like they were alone in the world which is kinda odd
