He was living in a remote and secluded area. I think him seeing other cars out there would be an anomaly. Living in such an area may make you more vulnerable to crime too. The fact is that even if they entered his private property, he needed to wait until they actually broke into this house if he planned to shoot them.

I built a turn-around at the end of my driveway simply so people could have a place to turn around without having to back out onto the road. I live in southern Arkansas, USA. Oddly enough, most people who do turn around use the neighbors' driveways across the road even though my turn-around is simply a drive-around and out the other driveway at the other end. I also have it on the outside of the fence so it can be easily assumed to be for public use. Go figure???.

It’s not about where you’re from because people in the US generally do not shoot people who turn around in their driveways.

Everybody deserves representation and those in the legal profession, and hopefully the greater populace in the USA, understands this. Such considerations are at the foundation of our democratic republic. This is why the Nuremberg trials were handled as they were.

Everyone has the right to a fair trial. Even though emotions run high there should be due process. Have faith, justice will come.

@@devinfolger3777 the point is not to make summary justice, the point, another time, is the urgency of having some greater regulation of the possession of weapons. A dog like that (I refuse to use the word "person") should not even see a gun. You americans should begin to understand that having a gun is NOT a right. There should be a serious reason to have one, and the burocracy required to have a gun license must be very long and difficult, because we are not talking of candies, but of something that not everyone has the intelligence to use without feeling in the far west. Otherwise, cases like this will continue forever and frequently. It's time to do something concrete, saying "poor soul" to the girl or simply pretending the death penalty for that dog (as the problem is only this specific case) is not enough and it's pointless. Beware of those telling you (maybe people having interests in the weapons market) to not politicize the event, because, I would say, everything that happens in our lives is politic, every decision, every action, every statement.

I agree, he's guilty, what do the loved ones of the deceased want, do that and move on. That's the closest anyone can get to justice on earth.

The things you mention have nothing to do with why someone is given bail. Bail was designed to give a defendant the opportunity to mount an effective defense and to permit the accused to live and work, earn a living and take care of their family until they are found guilty or acquitted. We don't ruin lives based on accusations. Bail is denied for flight risks and danger to society. It is as simple as that. It has nothing to do with saying goodbye or doing things they love to do. Even on bail, the accused is limited to work, grocery shopping, medical needs, and home. They can't go fishing, go to a football game, or have a night on the town. It is basically house arrest.
