The boyfriend of the Schuylerville woman killed last April after she was shot in a car that had turned in the wrong driveway took the stand Thursday to describe what happened that night.

I’m an avid gun owner and I would never just open fire on a car for pulling into my driveway…this is obscene

@@TombRaider666 It's a strange country. I'm 36 and only once seen a gun (that was not on a police officer) in my life. In the US I'd imagine that people would rather forget their wallet than their gun.....

I'm a gun owner who lives in an isolated area, but when I see strangers in my driveway or even at my door, my first response is to ask, "How can I help you?" But in this situation these kids wouldn't have even reached my house because I have a driveway gate that I lock at night to prevent strangers from driving onto my property. The shooter should have invested in a gate. It would have been a lot less costly for all involved. Those poor kids were still in their vehicle, trying to turn around and leave. They were not a threat. 😢
@roberth98144 ай бұрын
Not only did he not buy a gate, he policed his spent slug cartridges, picked up the wadding, and cleaned his shotgun barrel so thoroughly that no evidence of a gunshot could be detected. This guy shot a woman and asked his wife to help cover it up while his victim bled to death in the back of an SUV

That is so sad. A young woman killed just for turning into the wrong driveway. Everybody who drives has gone in a driveway just to turn around.

I respect our rights too much and human life too much to just want to use that right Willy nilly. This young girl was amongst friends and every one of them is now dead inside because that man wanted to shoot someone, anyone. He wanted to shoot his gun, and hoped him being on his property when he did so would protect him. I know plenty of people that don’t need to own a gun and plenty that understand and respect their gun as well as everyone around them. Defense? Okay. This was in no way defense, no one came to his door, no one knocked crazy, no one was shouting or causing chaos. They drove in, everything was black and they figured dang I must’ve made a wrong turn then drove out. He could’ve gotten any one of them, and it seems highly probably it was the motorcyclist he would’ve been aiming for bc that would’ve been the clearest vehicle to hear in that darkness with the engine going. None of them deserved it, but all of them were impacted when that bullet hit.

Guns kill people once you pick them up. If he didn't pick up the gun in the first place. This young woman would still be alive. This is such a waste of time trying to prove the gun is faulty. That should be a reminder to keep a faulty gun locked up at all times. Never to use the gun until it is fixed or adjusted. The gun probably should have been destroyed. How long has the gun been faulty. The gun being faulty is no excuse. If you are going to own a faulty gun your guns should be taken from you. It is all about gun ownership and property maintenance of your guns. A new law should come out of this if knowingly have a faulty gun you have so many days to fix or destroy. The gun should be locked tagged and never handled by anyone. It's like saying this gun doesn't work so I let my kids play with it. Come on man This guy pointed a gun at a vehicle and it went off and killed someone. Pointing the gun at the car is a problem. ❤

Who said the gun is faulty? the defense attorney? and you're buying it?
@jundersplunkett23654 ай бұрын
I served in the Army for 6 years, the first rule of weapon safety is to never point a weapon at something you don't intend to destroy, also don't put your finger on the trigger until your going to fire. If his ridiculous story is true he's still guilty, but I don't buy any of it, he's an irrational hot head who will hopefully spend the rest of his days behind bars.

Service in that area is spotty. I live in one of the boroughs of NYC so there’s always service. The outer areas of the metropolitan area can have very spotty service. Upstate NY and CT have plenty of dead areas. One of the original NYT articles that was published the week this occurred also stated that there was no cellphone service at all. The friends were interviewed and they had to drive 6 miles around in the dark to find cellphone service to call 911 so they could get an ambulance. It’s definitely believable; you could not believe how dead and isolated upstate NY and CT can be. My family used to drive to a small town in CT a lot; literally 2 hours from the city and we’d get no service so you’d just have to pray google maps loaded enough for you to sort-of navigate your way through. Upstate NY and CT can also get really dark really quick. The nights there are incredibly dark and silent. You seriously cannot believe how dead an area is, even during the day. God help you if you don’t know your way around.
