Hello and welcome to BakieGaming.
In this Bakies The Sims 4 Custom Content Series, I will show you everything I made for the Sims 4.
I will show you where to find it in game and give some tips and tricks on how to use them.

To help make your desert lots to feel more realistic, I give you the desert snake and lizard from Strangerville.

🚨IMPORTANT INFO 🚨, These Desert Snake & Lizard mods can now be found in the Pond VFX section in build mode. They also have other prices to match my other desert vfx mods in the pond vfx section.

Yes, it gives it a bit of extra realism. EA did a good job on this vfx as it can normally be found in Stranger Ville if you search long enough. ;)

Thanks again bakie!!! you always make great content 😃 did you notice the recent update the sims team copied you & made swans ducks dragonflies fish & fireflies as placeable objects! They should just hire you instead of copying your ideas. 😅

Yes, they probably saw that many people like to have the possibility to have those to make more realistic ponds. I still need to check everything out though as I was on a short holiday. I have plans to update my mods to work with those visible in build mode but invisible in live mode objects too. There're still some vfx that they haven't made placeable yet though, so I still have some work to do :P

Thank you so much for this, I'm just getting into herpetology and I really want to reflect that in my game - as always you have come to the rescue!! How hard do you think it would be for a newbie to create a static, but animated version of the lizard so that it could be put in a fake tank, as though it were a pet? I've done a little bit of tuning stuff, and a recolour or two, but haven't touched animated objects. I'm not entirely sure where I'd start...

All vfx I make placeable are made by EA in the first place. These two animals can normally be found in the world of Stranger Ville. So I can't make vfx like this myself either. As for changing vfx, there's a vfx-tool, but it's still in it's alpha-stage and quite difficult to work with. You can find it on modthesims. I haven't used it for my mods yet as I don't always fully understand it. So to make a lizard like this one to be on a single place but with a moving head, I can't help you unfortunately. ;)

@@katbairwell bad news about that is that you'd have to buy my first pet kit which causes shudders, or maybe you could pirate it! I doubt anyone would have a moral opposition to pirating that one in particular hahaha! Ah and this vivarium cc I mentioned you can find by googling "sims 4 cc small animal package part 2"

I wonder if The Sims team watched your videos and implement these kind of features on their pond VFX objects as well?

Well, maybe they do saw that people like to have the vfx that can be found in their worlds, to have as placeable ones like a lot of my mods do with their vfx. My "Water reed + pond animals" mod looks a lot like what they made for Cottage Living now. It all also gives the option to spawn the wild ducks, white ducks and dragonflies for example. Something they've added now too. ;)

After I'm finished updating all my older mods to the Pond VFX section in build mode, I will definitely look at the tortoise that came with the Cottage Living EP to see if I can make it placeable without the log. I can't make my own animals, I only make those already in game placeable for the community. ;)

How far does the snake go? I would love to have a Snake Terrarium for my sim, but EA just does not want to deliver and I cant build half a Room for just one snake D:

Hi, unfortunately, too far.. It's a vfx that's already in the game and I can't alter it. For now a terrarium with snakes is impossible. You can however use my animated iguanas, those stay still. ;)

Depends on which custom terrariums you use. If they have deco slots, then you can probably use these iguanas on them. An example of such a terrarium would be the ones Kaisosims made: modthesims.info/d/669772/the-sims-4-lizards.html

Hello, I am a player who is using your item well. Thank you. I downloaded dolphin and whale items, but they don't apply to the game. Do you know the solution? I really want to use it.

Hello, what do you mean with they don't apply to the game? They don't appear in game? It could be that some vfx take a while before they appear. In case of the dolphins and whales it's also the case that they only appear once. You need to re-activate them to see them again.

@@bakiegaming The sentence is a little awkward using a translator. I'm sorry. I unpacked the compressed file normally and put the file in, but it doesn't appear in the game. In this case, should I delete it and put it back in?

@@user-tk2nx4gi7d Maybe you don't have the item it's cloned from. For the dolphin and whale objects you need the Cat's and Dogs expansion pack. Maybe that's the problem?

No, not a tthe moment. Maybe they will come in the future, but I'm busy updating mods first. Also this one will get a small update so it will appear in the Pond VFX section, just like all my other vfx mods. ;)

If I could, I would. But all vfx I make placeable are made by EA theirselfs and already somewhere to be found in their worlds. These two come from the Stranger Ville world. What I do is making them placeable for anyone in the community. ;)

Reptiles are just as gorgeous. Don't think that everyone has the same limited taste as you.
