In this video I show you how to model a pergola style canopy in revit.
It starts of as with loading families in revit, you need to load the columns and beams first. Than you place reference planes or grids to create the outline of the structure. than you place the columns and beams in place. At the end you need to model the fabric as an in-place family.
Shortcuts:
UN - Project Units
CS - Create Similar
RP - Reference Plane
TR - Trim / Extend
SL - Split Element
CO - Copy
MV - Move
BM - Beam
BS - Beam System
CL - Column

I'm really impress on how you use different units (cm, mm and meters) in every different projects. I only use one unit but still and makes me crazy with inputting numbers haha

I would model just one portion of the fabric... from 1st beam to the third one and then array.... mirror it and array again.... good tutorial as usual

I know Revit is a powerful tool but this Pergola project is easier done with Sketchup....way easier ! No need for View range, unlimited, level 1 and 2, etc.....none of all that.
