Shots of the Queen attending the historic ceremony of the presentation of colours to The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. M/S of the Queen walking with a man in uniform inspecting the Highlanders. She talks to various dignitaries. The Duke of Edinburgh accompanies her, as does Major-General Douglas Wimberley. L/S of the royals walking across the grounds of Balmoral then stepping up onto a dais.
The parade presents arms. Shot of audience looking on. Queen and Duke walk from the dias to take the inspection. C/U of two veterans in uniform. Various shots of the Queen inspecting the parade and of the audience who watch the parade. Dipping the colours in salute to the slow march. Flags are raised. The new colours are presented and accepted by Lieutenant Barber son of Sir Colin Barber. Commanding Officer salutes the Queen with his sword. C/U of a man in beret looking on.
