I already absolutely love the world building of this series!

the anime didnt really explain that well but the inner tower ,outer tower and the middle are all sections of inside the tower, regulars are in the outer tower and are chosen only by headon. bam and rachel they came inside the tower through the door.

As a manwha reader, I can’t help but realize how many lil things and quotes they cut out of the anime that really make a difference in the story. Like Lero ro’s speech about luck he goes more into it in the manwha. But he says, “The luck of having a strong body. The luck of being smart, the luck of being rich. The luck of escaping from death. The luck of saving a teammate. The only reason you got this far… is because you were lucky. And now you say it’s absurd to test luck? Stop jabbering and take the test you regulars.” And another quote of mines that I like from him is in the same chapter. (This happens when the gunslinger confronts him) He says, “When god first shows you the world. It might seem like you can have anything in this limitless world. But one day, god appears again… and tells you, “this is your limit.” Although, there are so many things… that you still want to have. Do you get it now? the reason you can’t go up? It’s not like… you weren’t strong enough, or your efforts weren’t enough. But it’s because you just weren’t one of the chosen ones.”

The anime adaptation definitely exceeded my expectations when it dropped in 2020. It was quite nostalgic when I started watching it every week and reminiscing panels from when I was reading the webtoon around 2015. It didn't have much traction during the first 100 or so chapters as the early art style really looked childish for most people, including myself, but there was already a hefty amount of chapters when I started reading so I was able to really see the art style progression and it felt amazing witnessing that.

'Bam' mainly means night in Korean, while it also mean other words same time. So characters will call him 'Yoru(night in Japanese)' sometimes

TOG reaction, let's goooo🗣. This is gonna be an interesting journey. It's one of those shows where things are explained as you go along and sometimes even pretty late into the series. So since the anime won't really bring it up again, cause they explained it in episode 2 (but the subs wording can be confusing), I'll try to make it as clear as possible cause it'll help you greatly for future episodes. So both Rachel and Bam came from outside the Tower (that's why we see the doors open in the first episode). You can think of the Tower as a world in itself, with its inhabitants and cultures and society, that is organized by vertical levels (floors), which I see you're already doing, but also has horizontal sections: the Outer Tower, the Middle Tower and the Inner Tower. Most of the inhabitants of the Tower live in the Outer Tower and some of them (that show talent or potential) are invited by Headon into the Inner Tower, these people are what they call Regulars. The Inner Tower is where individuals climb the floors of the Tower and where the tests take place, no one climbs in the Outer Tower people just live there (as they said, it's residential areas for the most part). The Middle Tower is where Yuri and Evan were when Yuri bullied Evan (the aspect varies between floors, but it's mostly a connective space basically). Where Bam ended up after the Tower opened to him and dragged him in (the Tower did that, not Headon) is the 1st floor, which only outsiders of the Tower get thrown into, Regulars (the ones that are born in the Tower) start their climbing in the 2nd floor which is where we are currently taking these set of tests. Now do not be confused by the wording, when they say "tests to be granted permission to climb the Tower" it doesn't mean that those are the only ones. There's tests each floor, each floor you need to gain permission to keep climbing the Tower. The number and nature of the tests are different each floor. And last, in short, Irregulars are individuals from outside the Tower whose power has opened the doors of the Tower (or you can also see it as the Tower opening itself up to them when it senses them). No one from the inside invites them (Headon only chooses people that are already in the Tower, as far as we know). With this you should be able to enjoy a lot more the story of Rachel and Bam without getting too harped on about other details that won't be reexplained (maybe they'll do in the 2nd season as a refresher tho since it's been 4 years, but they won't anymore this season).

S1 of ToG anime is very much infodump of hints. Most of the stuff isn't explained directly, so be prepared for a lot of pausing. Haven't actually read the source, so can't comment on how much better it is in this regard.

TOG is amazing. Rachel seems like a standard love interest/damsel in distress, but she ends up being the best character. Drives so much of the discussion.

I know at this point you’re about done with season 1, however there was something I don’t think got pointed out in episode 1 and it’s that bam was in that levels of shinshu when fighting the eel. That’s like 20/30 floors levels of shinshu that’s stronger. However bam was walking in it like it was nothing. That shows you the difference in power that bam has.

Rachel isn't a regular. She got in through the door. That makes her an irregular.

"that's quite the way to speak to me", headon says. and he's right. as the caretaker of the tower and administrator of the first floor, he is functionally a god. he controls the life support of the first floor, monitors the flow of shinsoo through it and can summon and kill creatures on a whim. yuri's lucky headon's a laidback guy, if she tried that with some of the other higher-ranked entities in the tower, they'd squish her like the bug she is and move on.

I'm not trying to be critical but I'm really curious...how/why do so many "reactors" do the same thing? How can a human possibly listen/comprehend anything if they're talking all the time? It's so odd that the majority of "reactors" (that I see) all talk/theorize in the middle of characters sentences, scenes, etc. In many instances the answers to their questions are literally revealed a second (literally, one second) after they resume the video. To be clear, they'll pause the video. Go on a long rant with questions/theories which are answered resolved in the same scene they paused the video. Is doing it like that a _thing?_ Is actually listening/watching something in it's entirety...too boring? Old fashioned? Is being "confused" what's being...sold? Is that the "reaction?" A "reaction" video isn't a well thought out serious reaction to something, it's the facial expressions and acting confused, etc? Again, I'm not trying to be critical. I'm just wondering if I had the wrong expectations for "reaction" videos.

I get that it's new to you, but people in general need to understand that with a series that you're just starting, or a series that is still ongoing, you're not going to get all of the details/story in episode 1/chapter 1. There are plenty of stories that introduce information through flashbacks or revelations as the characters progress through the world.

Do you really need to read out every subtitle out loud?
