I suppose I can try it and find out, but if you already know. Will this work with a Bambu X1 Carbon which does not have the AMS? I am not afraid of adjusting code and assume that setting up profile to use slot one will work or if not fail in some informative way. john ferguson

Hi, great video, What version of Simplify3D are you using? Can the profile also be used for P1S? Have you added to Simplify 3d start G-Code and End G-code or even others? I have ordered and am waiting for the P1S to arrive but I am looking for an alternative to Bambustudio that is not derived from Prusaslicer-Sperslicer because I have always used S3D, I have also tried other slicers but I have always returned to S3D both for my old Anet A8 and for the Geeetech A20T 3in 1out, I find that managing multicolor with one process or more per color gives me the possibility to manage the printer better. Thank you

Would you say your results are better in Simplify3D vs Bambu Studio? What are the best features you get out of Simplify3D that Bambu Studio doesnt offer? I have the X1C, not the P1P and brought Simplify3D years ago, and just trying to figure out if I spend the money to upgrade the license to v5 and what benefits I get... Thanks

@user-oj8ng1fo5u Hello, the ONLY thing I´m using Simplify3d is to combine Vase mode with normal print modes while this is not possible in the Studio / Prusa slicer - I also have the older version and will NOT buy the new one cause they always told us that we "buy all updates" and now they try to sell us the next "big update". If they deliver the next years, then I maybe rethink it but NOW, no way that I buy the new version - That´s my decison and why - you must do what you think. As last point. They published V5 without a profile for the hottest printer 2022 / (2023)? That says a lot to me. All the best Sandor - DM4DS

I did you upload the gcode without using the BambuStudio? Also, can you connect Simplify3D to the BambuLab X1?

Hey @paulboes . I used the SDCard to "upload" the gcode. It is not possible to just upload gcode via the BambuStudio as I know. - happy printing Sandor - DM4DS

How do you send the G-code to the printer? I don't want to take the micro sd out of the printer every time as that may cause unwanted wear on the slot. Some people recommend FTP but I have no idea how to get started with that. Any advice?

you have to do it via SD-Card - as long as Simplify does not support the over the Air feature like the Orca Sliver or the BambuStudio. maybe they update it. Happy printing Sandor - DM4DS

Why does it temporarily lower the Z motor current to 0.3 at the start of the Gcode? Because my x1c creates a short buzzing sound right at the start of a print, which sounds like a stepper motor.

@umake3dprinting i copied this out of the original Gcode from Bambulab . Have not used my profile for a while, but can´t remember that I heard a buzzing sound. I try to look into it the next days, or after eastern. I´m also working on a V5 Version where I hope to get the AMS working. Take care, Sandor - DM4DS

i m really hoping i can use cura with the P1P one day as i really dont like the bambu labs prusa base slicer as its very laggy even on top end computers

I'm not familiar with Cura, but maybe you can use the start/ layer change / stop script and transfer it into Cura.

Hey Darren, I´m sure it works with the P1P, too. features like the timelapse and others the P1P does not have the hardware for of course will not work. But the speed, print size etc are the same. give it a try if you have the P1P. Happy printing, DM4DS - Sandor
