@@JerryGoNuts I saw them in London in 2019. I can't even remember if they played this or not, haha. I was just blown away by all of it. They're something else live aren't they... And there really is something special about Akane's drumming.

She's the best drummer in a generation - she's a goddess!

I don't know how or why it's different, but something about Akane's sound is very high-energy and abrupt like a snap punch to the sternum.

I believe that the combination of Miku, Saiki, Kanami, Misa and Akane is as much a result of Fate as was the combination of John, Paul, George and Ringo. For me, the top 2 bands in rock history.

After listening to this song I am wondering the same thing. They are an impressive group of beautiful and very talented ladies.

It's been growing on me as much as any of their stuff, the chorus is beyond good. They start to zig right when I would zag, and it immediately reminds me why they're my favorite band right now.

Yes! Miku in particular is not sufficiently appreciated as a singer. Her harmonies are absolutely vital to the B-M sound.

As others have pointed out, the band is still relatively new. Most of their gigs are still in small clubs with relatively small audiences. However, they've been gaining some steady momentum for the past year or so. They're also making their U.S. debut in March at Sakura-Con. That will increase their exposure even more. Between their KZfaq following from all over the world and their continued exposure, I'm sure a bigger deal and sponsorships will end up happening. We just need to be patient. :)

Couldn't agree more I say this all the time about them to people, I just can't see how they aren't so much more popular. They are fucking wicked live as well. Just wish their management would get their shit together and promote them more. Get them on more tours, more countries. Like when they came to America they should have come to Canada as well. But they skipped us in Canada. That is really poor management. They think a giant billboard of Miku in Japan is gonna make them more popular. But Japanese don't really listen to much music like Japanese metal or rock. Most are into pop music

Like you ask most Japanese if they had heard of Babymetal or Band-maid. Almost like 95% of the time they will say no. And the ones that do it's because they occasionally get Babymetal that comes up in Karaoke bars.

As I Canadian I have to admit I'd put their musicianship every bit on par with Rush, yet I like the Band Maid songs even more.

Neil Peart inspired me as a kid playing drums. But for decades I hadn't heard anything that made me want to stretch my abilities until I heard Akane playing her double pedals. I've always been able to fake it with a fast right foot and had no interest in mechanical speed metal pedals. But this little girl perpetually smiling as she wails on the skins has me doing sit-ups, leg lifts, running and toe stands (my left leg has been so sore) and just doing basic practice routines with both feet. DAMN! she plays fast. I've gotta warm up to splay steady at 120 BPM, but she's somewhere north of 140 most of the time. Still, I'm making progress. Maybe another week and I can do Thrill reliably, but all the rest I want to play is going to require some serious new technique (heal-toe) that I'm just now starting.

What you should listen for with Akane is dynamic control with her feet. Regarding which her only serious competition are Bonzo and Joe Morello. Dunno about you but I'd say that puts her top of the class.

Yeah, I should have added the fact that she is solid with the foot work too, her use of the Roland multplier is perfect and makes for an incredibly precise and even double bass drum beat which is almost impossible to duplicate with twin kickers due to phyisiological challenges for most drummers. It is hard to make an apple for apple comparison of drummers just as there is for guitarists but let me end with this, Akane is a natural drummer, she is just made for the drums and has obviously an amazing natural talent. Anyone can beat on the drums but do they have natural rhythm and timing? Akane does with no struggle whatsoever whereas some drummers are at the furthest reaches of their technical abilities and it shows. Akane will only get better and will not have to extend herself to do it. I would love to sit down with her and discuss her influences and technique but until then I will be happy to just listen.

Her place in Rock history is between Keith Moon and Animal.

Nice compliment, + yes Akane is a very colourfull girl drummer, she's very good at creating song structure ideas, with her drumming input, + knows how to beef up parts, that highlight the tunes, very tasty drum chops, + her personality shines through her talents, with her big happy smile, very cool chick.

Doll$Boxx), Unlucky Morpheus, Aldious, Octaviagrace, Ungrila and more of J-Pop bands like Scandal, Silent Siren, artist LiSA. Earlier great bands were Disqualia (Hizaki, Gt.) and before Lovebites was Destrose, members Miho (B.) and Haruna (Dr.) -KZfaq saves everything, I've seen great songs filmed even before 2012.

Nemophila, Raitei, an absolutely hair standing, blistering track. I can't stop buying Their CD's ( from Japan). If My Wife finds out how much I've spent, She'll kill Me... But I'll Die a happy Man... It was Baby Metal that started it all for Me, that opened the door to the amazing world of Female Japanese Rock Bands. My first love is Band Maid, with Nemophila a very close second. Keep Rocking..

私も同じです。６６歳になってこんなグループに出会えるなんて思ってもみませんでした。２年くらい前におすすめに出てきて「なんじゃまた日本得意の可愛いバンドか、まあ聴いてみるか」と聴いてみたら「はっ、なにこのバンド。日本の女子恐るべき」だと思いました。それ以来ほぼ毎日聴いています。カナダに来て３０年くらいになりますがここでも日本のラウドネスとか人気ありましたよ。そして自分の持っていたcdでコンディショングリーン、紫を聴いてもらったら日本のレベルの高さにびっくりしていました。当時は我々が海外のグループを聴いていたのに今はここの若者（だけとは限りませんが）日本のロックしかも女子ロックを聴くなんて本当に時代が変わったなと思うと同時に７０年代頃からyuotubeがあったら日本はロック王国になっていたんじゃないかと思います。ともあれyoutubeとBand-maidに感謝です。

Totally agree with you! Yes, the music industry is willfully mediocre, that way they can sell all they want and make easy money... it's a business after all :/ Music became fast food crap and the only thing we can do is sharing good songs with people curious enough to try more complex things. Let's support this amazing band and give them all the respect, the love they deserve ;)
