This is primarily for the new fans. Pay attention to the second verse of almost EVERY song in their catalog. That is where the Easter eggs are hidden. You will get MISA (bass) going crazy runs and fills, Akane (drums) going percussion gymnastics and Kanami (lead guitar) doing all manner of intricate but hidden parts. All of their songs are onions you have to peel with your ears to really appreciate what is going on. Even when you don't they are amazingly solid songs but when you dissect them it's stunning how well constructed they are.

This is why I love them. I've gone on a run of discovering Japanese rock acts this week (particularly all-female bands) and, while there's not one I didn't like, this kind of songcraft is what separates Band-Maid. They constantly keep things interesting and they're not afraid to stuff each song full of ideas because they're confident in their ability to come up with more. (Babymetal is pretty friggin' good at it, too.)

She is very smart in quoting her guitar part in the choruses here in the Domination choruses. I only noticed it, when I watched a fancam from Davos, Switzerland in summer 2018. It seems, this is also a back track, but after listen to it several times I´m not sure. Maybe it is a PA problem, every time she changes the sound on the pedal board. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pNF8i7eC1detpXk.html

Miku’s beautiful and uplifting lyrics, English translation: We put the blame in everything Through unattainable words. The things we can’t win against, It feels that they’re normal in our daily lives. I protect myself from the mass confusion of people. Being together with anyone, I pretended not to see anything, not to hear anything. Each time I lie, my chest tightens up. I open my eyes to seek, the source of the throbbing. I draw up a permanent magic spell, So that I can’t be hindered by anyone. My feelings are getting stronger As the dawn breaks in these wishful days. Ta-ta for now - I’m off to what’s beyond The shining morning glow. It starts from hereon! The word we call “Fate”, We give it out in desperation. It feels like I’m now back to zero, patching out the contemporary tomorrows. My head keeps spinning, somehow I can’t sleep Leaving things unsolved, As I head into the morning, What will change? Dreams and hopes, after having set-backs, They keep piling up on one another. The story of increasing the value of my existence. I’m proud of my rebellious self. I draw up a permanent magic spell, So that I can’t be hindered by anyone. My feelings are getting stronger As the dawn breaks in these wishful days. Ta-ta for now - I’m off to what’s beyond The shining morning glow. It starts from hereon! I draw up a permanent magic spell, I have conceived an unbreakable will. My eyes will never bewilder. I said to the expanding world before me; “Nice to meet you” My heart is pounding in excitement. It only happens once - that’s right, I’ll seize the day. The party is starting - time to prepare. I have no interest in something artistic. I don’t seek anything like eternity. All these boring give and takes, It’s all stupid - so just throw them away. Isn’t it better to collide head on? Fight on, right now. I draw up a permanent magic spell, So that I can’t be hindered by anyone. My feelings are getting stronger As the dawn breaks in these wishful days. Ta-ta for now - I’m off to what’s beyond The shining morning glow. It starts from here on!

One musical wish from the genie. I want an adrenaline rush of great rock served with some of the mind-tingling structure of classical music, some complex jazz-type drums, beautiful harmonies and the catchiness of pop. Genie looks stumped, then conjures up all his strength and .... out of the smoke appears .... five Japanese women dressed as French Maids. Band-Maid, nothing like them.

Man......this band!! The grooves of the bassist, the rolls and fills of the drummer, the solo of the guitarist that sounds like part of the song instead of just a solo, the vocalist and the backup vocals, the song structure just perfect and amazing. They could have made a few songs from the different melodic lines in this song. My 9th song listening to them and its just unreal how talented these girls are. Where have they been?? Its just unbelievable they played together only 8yrs (I'm told) and be this good. Ordered their album Unseen World but I feel should have include their some of their older albums...pretty pricy purchasing from Japan. Guess have to enjoy what they have in KZfaq. Band-Maid made me listen to rock again after all these years...just awesome.

@@MinusNoir Yes i avoided this Song for Soo long like a month cause its stupid name but my God was i blown away by it. The Power the happiness, the melody, the Riffs the vocals. Kanami s sick guitar playing. I dont dare to Rank Band Maid Songs but Yolo is Rank 1. Daydreaming, and Bubble and Endless Story and Alone are also amazing and Domination the Live Video. Its hard with a Band that has pretty much only great Songs :)

My obsession with BM has phases. It started with Dice and Play. Then, Choose me and Don't tell me. Then I was and still fascinated by Puzzle. Then I had Rinne period. Then Don't tell me and Moratorium. Now, even not waiting a new album, I am in Daydreaming - a live version with Kaname piano and Yolo! I will be soon in the Blooming and Bubble phase. Then Wonderland... I even don't know when time for a new album will come. By that time they perhaps will have another album! It's really an Endless Story! Thank you Band Maid for the tear 2020!

There are several dinosaur era rock bands still touring but l will tell you, hands down, this is the very best hard rock band performing anywhere in the world. Period. Who can match Misa? Maybe John Paul Jones and he's still kind of around. Who drums this well today? Most of Akane closest competition has been gone a long time. Keith Moon. Neil Pert. Ginger Baker. She can hold her own with any of them. Lead guitar speaks for itself as do the two major vocalists. Now you have to add no bad songs. I found out when l thought a tune was perhaps not a stirring masterpiece l was only comparing it to other Band-Maid tunes and not against any competition. And if l took a tune like that and compared it to anything out on radio today it is so superior. The music is infectious and it makes me feel happy. And the happiness lingers even after the song concludes. Language l would not change. A sprinkling of English is fine. The band is so good and exciting it would not matter if the ladies sang in pig latin. They keep getting better over time and that is impressive. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

I am so impressed with this song, listen to how complex the second verse is with all the stuff Kanami is playing, but it still makes sense and does not distract from the vocals but makes it richer and more fascinating. She must have been very ambitious to show their label that they are totally fine with writing their own songs, and it really worked out I guess. Still one of their best songs until today and I really hope they keep playing it live.

the harmony in the song you described and then there is the meaning the song has to convey (it motivates me a lot) it is not possible (atleast in the ones which i have heard) to convey the feeling through "words" and through "instruments" both. A band like this has never come and i think it is the peak of human creativity (i know it is not) for Kanami to produce such riffs and solos on guitar. Unhumane talent.
