Kanami, the lead guitarist, also plays the piano track. She programs the string tracks, I believe. The drummer and bassist both play some horns on backing tracks on other songs so they are doing all the music themselves. Yes, they have a dynamite lead vocalist, the Ice Queen, Saiki (psyche). And the rhythm guitarist is a second vocalist and monster backing vocals. Whe my father passed away in 2020 and then everything locked down immediately afterward, I consoled myself with music. Unfortunately, I felt like my music needed an injection of new talent. I was watching Nigtwish videos and started to see BAND-MAID pop up in my recommendations, so I decided to give them a shot. If I liked it, cool! If I didn't, I could always move on. Three songs later ("Dice," "Blooming," and the live version of "Domination"), I was in love and soon found LOVEBITES, Wagakki Band, Unlucky Morpheus, Babymetal, Ningen Isu, Galneryus, Asterism, Nemophila, and several others. I love the maids, though I still maintain my objectivity about their new releases. Fortunately I love everything B-M releases because they're so damn good.

The looks of amazement on all of your faces at the outset was AWESOME!! It's always so much FUN to witness the birth of a brand new Maidiac, let alone 3! Believe it or not, that's just the tip of the huge iceberg of musical greatness from this incredible group of ladies and the more you hear from them and get to know them, the more you'll love 'em! They have a singer and most of their songs have vocals. They jump around genres a lot so you’ll hear everything from hard rock and metal to pop and funk to punk and progressive. You never know what you’re going to get. And yes, some of the songs have a southern metal flair. To hear a range check out the live video for Manners/Black Hole. Or look for the live Domination video. Peace out

Out of an around 120 song catalogue, they have 4 official instrumentals and this was one of them. Just brilliant. So yes, they have a singer (even 2 in fact) and she's crazy good, too. If you wanna continue and hear them, try the official live videos for Domination, Play or Real existence. Or the music videos for Blooming, Warning! or Dice. Thanks 🤘🏻🙂

There are so many good songs from Band Maid. Manners, Play, Rinne, Dice, Blackhole and many other. They jump from so many different styles. You should absolutely go for their Oficial live videos. And they do have two singers. One lead Singer Saiki, Miku co-vocals and guitar. Kanami lead guitar, Misa on base and Akane on drums. Great reaction😁👍

Welcome and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live twice with this MV quality in Tokyo and dropped my jaw twice 😲. I believe so did many of American audience at 12 venues in the last October. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at three festivals (including Aftershock, Sacramento) and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" So you got a good start. Please salute these girls 😄

Here's the bands lineup: Saiki - Lead Vocals Miku - Rhythm Gutar, BV, Lead Vocals, Lyric Writer Kanami - Lead Guitar, Songwriter MISA - Bass Akane - Drums They take elements of Classic Rock, Metal, Punk, with a little Alternative & Jazz thrown in. They simply play everything well. They are a Japanese band whose songs are mostly in Japanese, with some English incorporated as well. No need for me to suggest songs since others already have. Whichever songs you check out, you'll discover they are ALL great. 🙂👍

This is way heavier in person. Saiki is their singer. They played this song eighth in Dallas on October 21st. The next two songs were sung by Miku, the rhythm guitarist, who then celebrated her 31st birthday. That gave Saiki about 20 minutes to rest in the middle of the show. Kanami is the guitarist; she writes most of their songs. The bassist is MISA. There are many women in Japan named Misa, but there is only one MISA. Keep listening and you'll know it's true. No one asked about the drummer. She's pretty good too. Akane, by the way.

Now you entered the magical world of Japanese metal and rock, I strongly recommend to dive waaayyyy deeper into the origin and inspiration of many Japanese bands including Band Maid : X Japan. The biggest band in Japan's Rock Scene history, starting in the early 80s. Any of their live performances are great - for a start i would recommend the song Kurenai from their "last live" concert. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bqeidNGJsciqk58.html The band has the most dramatic and sad history you can imagine and their stuff ranges from speed and punk metal to rock ballads - I am a huge fan and would love to see you discover them 💜💜💜

If you put your finger in the gears of Japanese female groups like Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Whiskey Dust, you won't get out. Add a group of young South Korean women like Rolling Quartz and it's total happiness!

I believe they have something like 140- 150 songs out. Not a bad song in the list. Try their live songs like ( Freedom/ Domination/ Puzzle) just to name 3. Band Maid is definitely a Band of Iconic status. Such Great musicianship and writing skills. Band Maid is a One of a Kind Band. Enjoy jumping down that rabbit hole and enjoy it,it will be a deep hole to jump into. Oh I forgot to say that Band Maids acoustic songs are phenomenal also

Nothing wrong with using tracks you know? They play the tracks themselves- and they play al their songs amazingly well live even the hardest of them. All the tracks add are little things like the strings or piano etc. Nobody is gonna have someone sit on stage with a piano to play 5 notes in one song! They are all incredible musicians- probably way better than 99% of bands out there! They write all their own stuff and have been playing together for 10yr. They formed themselves and learned and grew as a band the old fashioned hard way with thousands of little gigs. p.s Hope you do more :) While this is an incredible song, since 95% of their songs have singing, you should really hear some of those too! Try Warning MV or domination or freedom official lives for good start6ing points.

This is a rabbit hole worth exploring. Nice reaction! Yes, they do have a great vocalist but also have several instrumental tracks. They are better live, so choose any of their official live videos. You can't go wrong.

I might be partial bias but so much good metal comes from Europe, specially Northern Europe and from Japan. There are a bunch of really good metal bands from Japan and Band maid is one of them and yes they have a singer, a very good one. 🤓🇸🇪

These girls rip! You start down this musical path, you will not get off. MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass. Akane the Gorilla on drums. Miku the little pigeon on backing vocals and rhythm. Kanami, The Riff Goddess on lead. Only missing Saiki, the ice princess on vocals. Amazing band.

Pigeon... it's a pigeon hole you are about to go down. These rock goddesses has more than 100 tracks and almost every one is worth listening to. They actually only has about 4 or 5 instrumental with the one you just listen to being the latest one. Some tracks to go for would be Domination, Freedom, Puzzle, Manners, Influencer, Choose Me... just to start you off.

Band Maid is my #1 favorite, A relatively new band called Nemophila is my #2. For Band Maid I would recommend Domination or Freedom or Real Existence (live), Dice or Blooming (MV). For Nemophila I would recommend DISSENSION (heavy) then RAITEI or REVIVE as follow ups. Keep Rockin! Say, on your cover channel, Nemophila has done many covers. Suggestion if I might. You guys need to go back to the beginning and hit some of the early stuff. Both music videos and live. Music videos by them I'll just throw these out there. Thrill which was their first. Then Real Existence, Alone, Before Yesterday, Daydreaming and Bubble. Do the music videos of these. You will not be disappointed. And it's a great mix of different sounding songs by them. They have a habit of being able to mix multiple genres even inside one song. Take care stay safe and be well.

@@jamesnelson1968 When did I say I'm a J-pop fan boy ? You went from rock to manufactured products to J-pop lol. But let's actually talk about this, objectively speaking J-pop is more musically complex and interesting than western pop has ever been in the last 50 years, many J-pop bands and artists use a lot of 7th chords and jazz and classically influenced elements, the use of different and interesting chord progressions is pretty mainstream in J-pop while American and European pop stick to the same 4 chords and the same exact progression, also actually rock and metal and more complex bands (math rock/prog rock) are actually part of the mainstream charts in Japan, while the western scene has long forgotten about actual good songwritting and is mainly filled with the same Rap and copy past pop songs. Also I assume the "manufactured product" comment was about J-pop (I genuinly thought you were actually talking about industrial products lol) ? If so then you're a bit confused, you seem to have a confusion between the Idol industry and and J-pop music industry, one being an entertainement focused industry where artists are generally hired as idols (dancers/actors/models) and the other being just the actual musical scene of the country by musicians. Pretty common mistake from people ignorant about how the music industry works in other countries. "investigation of the Japanese music scene" Let me guess by investigation you mean watching youtube videos about idol groups or some random news article making the same amalgamation between J-pop and idols right ? lol You just proved how narrow minded your thinking is if Band-Maid and Wagakki are what you think is good band in Japan, typical youtube recommandation follower opinion lol
