Bangles is a great band. They have many great songs.

This song was written by Jules Shear. The Bangles first heard a tape recording of his version in the car. They later said they knew after the first line “that’s Jules!!” Because Jules Shear is a male, the song took on a different interpretation when the bangles sang it. Jules Shear also wrote the majestic “All through the night” by Cyndi Lauper.

Not only did they look very attractive but they also had several damn good songs, in the 80s it was also very unusual to see a band that initially consisted only of women singing and accompanying themselves. They could and still can actually sing and play very well.

Great harmonies, great rhythms, great songs from a highly underrated band. Also Susanna Hoffs is arguably the most beautiful vocalist of all time.

The only song I even remember from them is Walk Like An Egyptian. This is a gem. It’s a vibe and fun to listen. This is definitely good music!! 🙂💜

I know this song, I wasn’t a grasshopper over then haha, I was in my teens, loved the band they were very popular overhere, it was very cool all those girls in the band. And the big hair haha I had that too, thanks for taking me back ❤️✌️

What good memories! I listened to Bangles all day in my youth and I still have them on my playlist because they have always given me a good vibe and raised my spirits in low moments. My favorite songs were "Manic Monday" and "Eternal Flame" although all their songs are fantastic. Thanks for this reaction and bringing me so many memories.

Bangles were great. “In Your Room” was another low key good one by them. And Susanna Hoffs is the queen of the side look. Enjoy!

These ladies were exceptional. Part of the "Girl-band" wave of the early 80s, but much more talented than the rest. Played their own instruments. Sang their own vocals. Super-tight harmonies. The experts kept trying to make them into Susanna and her band, but all of these ladies were outstanding musicians and vocalists in their own right. Susanna Hoffs (guitar and vocals), Vicki Peterson (guitar and vocals), Debbi Peterson (drums and vocals), with Michael Steele (bass and vocals) all sang lead stanzas on "Egyptian" which, while dismissed because of it's popularity, was really pretty good musically and vocally. And Susanna still has the best eyes in the history of rock music

The Bangles - Hero Takes A Fall same concert check it, Susanna and the guitarist having fun at the solo.

This concert was recorded at a college in PA that had won a contest through MTV. It was to raise money for a disability. I can’t remember the cause, but the college in America that raised the most, got the bangles to perform for them. So not the typical “fan” concert. The audience basically only knew the hits. But the entire show is great. MTV broadcasted it. The ratings were so high, they did a special encore presentation of it a month later.
