(about the plastic diaper) I know that sometimes mattel does that with collectible dolls because the fabrics "get dirty" on the body. I've never seen it on a playline doll.

I've been waiting for someone to take her hair out of that style because I wanted to see what the texture was like. I love it. Your make-under made her look 100x better. I would have to darken her lip colour too because I really don't like that garish pale purple. But I think I will buy her after seeing this. :)

Well, she's very EX-TRAAAAA! LOL. I agree with you on the 'Extra' bodies... they DO look less robotic. And it's great to see Mattel investing in real functional details on their doll garments again ... (Real pockets!) I remember there was a recent British Vogue cover with a series of similar dark complected cuties wearing those puffy ball braids or whatever one calls them... This gal reminds me of those covers... and if I had to choose an 'extra' motif or pattern, it would have to be the star shape. I also agree that she looks way cooler without that very 'extra' ruffled top! And those glittery Doc Martens are cool!!! SO extra!!! BTW- I predict that watches will become old-school cool again. Wait and see!!! :P And I'm forever dropping tiny Barbie accessories on the floor and then spend ages looking for them as I fear if I don't right away, I'll forget and then inadvertently vacuum them up! LOL LOVE those coloured frame sunnies the pet is wearing (Remember Alain Mikli from the 80's? they remind me of those 'Memphis' style ones of theirs from back then...) and LOVE that drink accessory with the orange slice! I want that for my displays! Slate will love it, too. LOVELOVELOVE her just wearing the stole!!! Looks like she's posing for the cover of a hip music 'zine or something like that... I was able to get all three extra dolls on sale at Toysrus Canada. So happy to save $$$. #7 was in stores a month ago. I got a hot tip from the manager that they were expecting a big truck yesterday with Barbie so I went and got the deal on the last day for the other two! So grateful 😊.

I'm a new subbie and I've been making my way through a lot of your Barbie videos to catch up. I have these dolls as well, I adore them. I am so glad a content creator understands why some of us do not like the mtm bodies, they are so robotic looking. I wish they make more Barb Extra with their type articulation joints, they are much more realistic and just as functional for me. The best bodies for "visual legs aesthetics" are the fashionistas (curvy of course) but they are so limited in movement and I can't even use them for hanging out sitting dioramas. I still grab them though.

Hahaha, I just went shopping for my Looks Petite and she's not even getting here until august! Only came back with shoes though. I'm going to paint the details on the shoes so they look better. Like the boots on her. So for the Pants--A vinegar/water bath for colored clothes will help with color bleed from doll clothes. I picked that up from the resin doll community for my resin boys and girls. :)

I bought the extra doll for my daughter with a discount. She loves Barbies, but now only likes the ones with movable bodies. So I gave the old ones to an orphanage. 👩🏾‍🦱

I found out earlier today that her pet is a Pomeranian, which I have, so I might have to get her just for the pet. I'm saving your video so I know what to do with her hair!

If you turn the bump at her elbow in instead of out, her arm might bend a few degrees more, making it easier for her to get her hand into her pocket. I don't have her but I've noticed that with dolls who just bend at the elbow with one joint. I'm waiting for the pink haired doll (apparently #9 or #10).

At 8:40 we can see ankle joints in Made To Moves. Not that they are important to stances but Made To Moves can do more body contortions as the Olympics of 2020 comes about here in July of 2021 all types of gymnastics that people watch the Olympics for. I can't wait to watch our own U.S. team in gymnastics (I don't know how good Canada's team is in 2021). I wonder if Mattel Barbie is going to capture dolls for the Olympics here in 2021.

Thank you for sharing! I just got this doll from Amazon. I have all the others up to 13, but was holding off on Seven because I wasn't wild about her hair. Unfortunately, the box she came in (from Amazon) was smashed, and I feared she may have been missing pieces, but she and her accessories are fine. I can't wait to take her out of the box to be absolutely sure her bracelet is there. I was wondering how you take her head off. I'm afraid to try! I just know I'll break her! And what did you use to wash her hair? (I just now subscribed to see all your unboxing videos.)

Can you please give me a little more insight on Barbie Extra? I seen them though only thought they came in those tiny size? What are the reasoning for them? I know that at a point in time before "Project Dawn", that the fashionistas were about being progressive in making dolls relatable to girls than from the traditional 3 colored skin toned and one hair style textured styles of dolls in their archives they had to offer.

I don't like this doll. She looks like a mix of at least two styles - a black and neon green (think wwafawdwg era Billie) colour scheme (maybe a black slip dress with the green stole) a pair of fun shoes, plus the silver accessories and a black and green purse with silver details; and the black and purple set up (what if the poofy shirt was extended so it's a sheer dress and the purple bralette black? Plus the shorts), with a pair of black heels. The blue bag sticks out like a sore thumb. Make it a different colour and I'm here for it. Obviously she needs a deeper lip colour and I'd prefer a little more makeup on the eyes, not to mention a Mani-Pedi. And that hair... No. I wouldn't mind if she had an afro instead, or to at least have her hair be afro from the get go so we can choose whether to remove the hairstyle or not without having the hair be straight with a slight crimp. The pet is cute af though. I'll give them that. I prefer the 14 points of articulation in the Glam Luxe Style dolls from ca 2013. They have ankle joints and a chest joint.

Of all of the newer Extra dolls, i hate the hair on this one the most. That was a terrible style choice. She looks like a 7 year old's school photo from the late 1980s. Like a single father with no hair-styling experience did "something" and that was the best that he could do.
