Thanks Tony, it seems that maybe many are thinking this is the first video back.. but i did the Harley shocks last week, so been back a week now, and really happy to be back in the garage. Brake and clutch hoses first, then i can deal with the cables.

Brilliant to see you back and well mate. Nearly lost my life with Sepsis in February and you’re right; you spend a lot of time thinking about mortality and the loved ones you could leave behind. Keep up the amazing work Del, take it easy and all the best to you and Penny

Glad to see you back Del, regarding the choke cable... You do realise that it's only a fast idle device and doesn't enrich the mixture in any way and therefore not really necessary.

Oh that feeling when you first sit on the bike with nothing but the raw naked new bars. 😌 I’d love to see you custom make the throttle cables from a kit. I recently tried using a kit I got from Wemoto, but didn’t have success with creating a solid connection to the lug. I’ve got a better flux and will try again though. Good to see you back doing what you love. 👍🏼

@@Moonfleet41 legend, thanks mate. I saw many videos on KZfaq with conflicting advice about what needs to be heated and why. I also don’t believe I had the best flux. I was using plumbers flux but have now acquired better 801 flux so am keen to give it another go.

Gotta love it. Del see's an aftermarket part and say's " Nice but I'll make it better " lol, the funny thing is he always does. Making your own riser bushings, this should be cool. i'd be interested to know what kind of plastic you're going to use, which I'm sure you'll explain, polyurethane maybe? Great to see you back Del, KZfaq was getting stale. 🍻

@@Moonfleet41 Yep I’m not surprised the meds are slowing you down a bit. I suspect that’s all in the grand design. Now more important than ever, given the new virus variant spreading, is to limit your exposure. Seems the vax is no guarantee. I’m doing likewise but for a different ailment. I’m sure “this too shall pass” as my dear mom used to say. Big hug to Penny. Get well. People care about you. 😎

loving the work delboy - i often learn things i didn't even know i wanbted to learn from you - 'gonna shorten the bolts' (ok - i know how to do that) 'and lenghten the thread' (WHAT? YOU CAN DO THAT??) :D

Great to see yon back on the tools Del. I went to Carrot Cycles for custom length control cables for a recent project. The guys are super helpful and there pricing and quality are brilliant. Wemoto were unfortunately no help when it came to control cables

Thanks Jason, that's a great tip.! i have a cunning plan to make them myself from a universal kit, but it it doesn't work out, or they're a bit flimsy, then ill give Carrot a call for sure..!

@@Moonfleet41 tried them 😢😢 used the slinky glide universal kits. Tried crimping soldering the lot. No matter what i did i just could not get them to hold at all. But hopefully you have better results. All the best with it.

@@OuterLaneTrain Thanks mate, that's interesting, I see the little crimps in the kit and it is quite a hefty spring on the throttle bodies, so if it doesn't work out, I may just buy some custom made ones, there seems to be a few options... I guess even B-King cables would work!

Thanks buddy, this is the second week back, I made the Harley suspension video last week and it's good to be back in the saddle, as they say! Funny enough, when I went out to buy a donor bike for the very first big project, I ended up with a Kawasaki ZX7R, but what I went to look at in the dealers was a Blackbird, and they're still a good option so it still may happen some day mate!

Looks good mate 👍 if in doubt give Cable Tech in bootle a call. Ive just got a set made for a zxr400 import as the 30 year old oe ones have had it 👍 even made them an inch longer for better routing
