Frank translates some typical Italian dialect words (Barese/Triggianese), and how they differ very much from proper Italian. He also describes how weird they sound when inserted in a sentence.

Cra comes from the high Latin “cras” for tomorrow, domani comes “die mane”

Hi Frank, I liked your video. I don't know whether you realise "cras" is the word the Ancient Romans used for "tomorrow", so the Baresi are in fact carrying on a great tradition, which we still use in the word "procrastination" - now there is another great Barese tradition, especially when it comes to paying people... ouch!

Tomorrow is "Domani" in Italian. In barese dialect it is "crè", that comes from "crais", latin word to say tomorrow.

I am barese as well. The barese dialect will also change depending on which town you come from. For example: In the town of Bitritto, the pronunciation of words will be different than from the town of Sanicandro. The truth of the matter is we all understand each other, but other Italians can't understand us. Also, there is no such thing as writing the barese dialect. It is not possible and it does not exist. The barese dialect is indeed funny to listen too, but I am proud anyway. Viva Bari e viva le barese.
