The submarine you saw is a Type 209 diesel boat. The Seahawk helicopter and Perry class frigate are both ASW platforms so I assume you stumbled upon an anti-submarine exercise. The Seahawk may have been assigned to the frigate.

I’m active duty Navy and was deployed ten years ago to that area. Turkey was one of my favorite countries we visited along with Haifa Israel.

Thank you for showing us Turkey. My picture of it was so different. I thought it would be drier. Of all the places you have been, it is one of the most (if not the) most beautiful countries. The cities seem so unspoiled by crappy architecture. Thank you for putting it on my bucket list.

Turkey has more to offer then I realized! Their coastline with rocky shoreline reminds me of Pacific Northwest and urban area looks clean and inviting.

That fan motor looks just like a bathroom ventilation fan motor and the bathroom fan motors usually have the long shaft. I end up mixing and matching parts on fan motors to make exactly what I need.

finally finished the binge today! I watched all 249 videos in this watchlist and circumnavigated the earth along with you. That was a treat. Thanks for bringing all of us along. I get a great deal of pleasure from editing videos but I'm not so great at it. could be much better. I'm not so great at telling a story, so I wanna watch these all again as a lesson in video editing and story telling. Strange to watch the first one again just now and seeing how much Keith has changed in just 6 years. Renee hasn't changed much. ;) I was still living in south Florida in 2016 when you started on your adventure and I remember watching tall masted monohulls going under those bridges. and now I live in Texas. go figure. feels like a lifetime ago too. Anyway, keep them coming!!

Ah, what impeccable music taste you guys have, and play pretty well too - Keith knocking out a great number from Extreme and Finn just improvising what does indeed sound a bit like Led Zep's Going to California. Sailing and video skills aren't bad either😀. Hoping you'll spend some time around Paxos and Corfu and the mainland opposite - we manage to get a bareboat charter there most years, there are some beautiful spots and would be cool to see it from your perspective!

In lots of places in the northern Med and in Turkey and Greece in particular, making a fire is prohibited. It’s a natural park in a lot of places. Huge fine as a minimum.

WHEW!! Hey everyone, I've just finished binge watching all your amazing videos. I decided to start at the beginning because if not, it's sort of like watching a movie from the middle and trying to understand what's happened up to now. I'm so glad I went back to the start. There is so much awesome content here that I had trouble getting away from it once I started. What you are doing for and with your family is mega commendable! I have to say, there were times when I laughed so hard my face hurt (some would say it does anyway) and when times were hard and goodbyes were happening, I had tears running down my face. Congratulations on your amazing circumnavigation experience!! Now, it's time to get over to the store and figure out what kind of "merch" I want. It's all about me ya know...lol. Seeing you guys on the beach talking playing your guitar that’s what families used to be like. Don’t you sometimes think had you never done this what your life would be like with your kids? they could’ve got mixed up with wrong crowds drugs fighting all the time. This was the best thing you could have ever done. your family will always be bonded and close, my sad thought is what if they get a little older and want to leave like Anna. Where will that leave you I hope they just carry on with you guys and bring their families along. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching you. ❤️❤️

Thanks for sharing this beautiful anchorage with us. Sorry the wind was being such a s pain. It was nice to see you and the kids disconnect for while on shore and have some family time. Fin has really come along way on the Gee-tar. It's been a while since the three guys all jammed on camera, together. I tell you what Renee, you are really looking fit and trim these days. I just absolutely love to hear y’all say I love you to each other! My daughter’s friends think we are weird for saying I love you as much as we do! We love watching y’all! Maybe you will have a contest invite a family with a 17 year old daughter. Cause we want to come too! I have spent my whole life fishing offshore mostly (my dad and mom owned businesses in deep sea charters and offshore oil rig standby vessels) and the last 17 years my husband and I around freshwater fishing! My dream is when our daughter graduates next year we sell our home in north Dallas and do exactly what you are! I’m having a hard time selling Brian that we can do it! He’s a mathematician brain, VW sales executive, guitarist and can’t wrap his mind about what it’s takes to do what y’all do $ wise. But I know we can! A girl can dream! I’m just a mermaid at heart! So I live in Worden, MT. We just had a nice spring winter storm. Grass is greenish, and the prediction with the large amount of snow we still have in the mountains is the cheat grass will be at least knee high and budded by the end of June. I will be out on fires by then, especially in the south AZ through TX as they already are burning a bit. Two more years and I'll be snowbirding in the carribean on my own boat I hope. Cheers

Repair your fan motor: remove the bottom bearing, clean the shafts (top & bottom), polish the shaft with emery cloth, drop of lube top & bottom and reassemble. Have repaired hundreds of fan and phonootors of this type. Good luck!

Hunting for parts in unfamiliar ports is something any sailor is familiar with especially with language difficulties a mixture of sign language and single word descriptions is what you are left with. Good job.

I don't understand why Keith always talks about everything with the boat and his first person. my boat, I am going around the military zone, I am moving Anchorage etc. etc. I would’ve thought they would’ve been everybody’s boat by now. Cool video though, brings back lots of memories from the years ago that we were there with our boat.

We had to leave a bay in Gocek in 35 knots gusting 48 knots as an old guy in a motor boat anchored in the wrong place and almost hit us at 6am when the wind came from a different direction. We were there first but he couldn’t move, he is 80 and can’t handle the boat well, so we left and went to Fethiye, dropped the hook in 40 knots, holding I’d great especially with 80m of chain out! 🤣😂 Not fun having to Moro into 48 knots on the nose though! If you guys are free in Marmaris we should have a music / jam session. We play guitar, fiddle, cello etc.

Yep you are lucky to be there! And hell I am still getting snow in the Blue mtns of Washington State!! It is still getting down in the 20s at night and only got up to 38 today!! Are first snow was October 28 and still getting snow on April 21!!

When i was on holiday in Lemnos,the Greek Airforce flew twice a day to the Turkish coast just to monitor any unusual movement/Greece and Turkey have history between their nation's.Hence Cyprus is a shared island as a friend of mine living there of Greek origin told me.
