That's some great stuff I've used it on several cars I've had in the past. Dakota's of those years are prone to have water pump issues though can't wait to see your test results see how long it works great idea👍👍

Nice Radiator fix. I’ve used a similar product. It wasn’t leaking on floor, it was a little leak in gasket and bingo. 👍💯

I grabbed some for my 96 Civic after having a pretty decent leak form in the original radiator, yay for "hybrid" radiators. Previously tried the stuff with the flakes but it was meh! This is a temporary fix while I wait for FedEx to deliver my new radiator to me, but I appreciate the straightforward's advice on how to use it PROPERLY. Too many channels be all "ya just yeet it in n go" which MAY be true but as you said thermostats and caps are cheap. And less hassle than blowing something due to overheating. I am still waiting on mine to "cure" so it seals the leak but so far, so good 🤔. Already the amount I need to top things off has gone way down which is nice. And yes I flushed my loop with distilled water before changing "stop leaks" so I did not risk running on straight stop leak 😉.

It fixed my gushing leak that was going 1 gallon every 3 or 4 minutes. I used the heavy duty pellet one, and also put in the copper one for good measure.

back in the day when I was a kid on a chicken farm we put 2 eggs in the radiator to stop a leak in the old farm truck, it worked for a day or so....(good old old stop leak)

Cool! I used this once on one of my old camaros it fixed the radiator leak and worked. You really don't need to change the radiator cap or thermostat as long as it's not exposed to air it wont cure it will stay liquefied. it leaks out of the hole that was leaking and the air makes it cure up and seal.

About 10 years ago I added a bottle to my Honda Accord. It was the kind that had the aluminum flakes. Not only didn't it fix the leak but it totally clogged my heater core. It was a major pain in the A to reverse flush all of that crap out of the core. Ended up just putting in a new radiator but the car heater never really got hot like it use to.

Doing bar leak (cooling system repair)to my ford. 3.5. I know not the same product but i think its the same concept and it wouldn't hurt. (My infinity got fix after new parts you mention. But omg.... getting stuck and over heating.... just because i tried to save an extra 50 bucks....ty!!!+..new subscription ^_^

well back in the day we had some stuff it was like silver flakes which we poured into it works great especially if you leave cap off- now you can drive using any kind of coolant - btw if you shut your car off does it leak and where was your leak--what about heater core?

I've used that stuff back in the day and you're right you do got to change a thermostat but I never did change my radiator cap and everything worked out wellexcellent review my friend and some excellent information and I thank you for sharing it with all of us at is very important to do change your thermostat and your radiator cap pretty cool info manI enjoyed it take care bro and I'll see you at your next one 👍

Nice video. When one changes the thermostat and radiator cap does that require draining the coolant first? If so, would I put all new coolant in that doesn't have the Bars Stop Leak in it, or if I drain the coolant, can I put the drained coolant ( with the Stop Leak in it) back in the car?

Is it ok to idle the engine from cool with the cap off until temp is reached?

Tried it a few days ago, had to use two and it worked. My coolant was leaking pretty bad lol but this fixed the problem . Made my check engine light go away too !

I put this in my 2012 Wrangler for a small radiator leak. I don't really like how the pink coolant is now brown and chunky looking. Just doesn't seem right.

My jeep has the same motor. Going to run this in it for a leaky freeze plug. Do not look forward to replacing the thermostat.. lol

Yes the stuff does work course you already know this it's running it for about 30 minutes after you put it in and it won't plug nothing up

Bar's leaks radiator stop leak ruined my radiator. Now I am wondering what will cut it. I have tried disconnecting the radiator from the rest of the cooling system, plugging the openings and letting it stand while being filled with acetone for several days and had limited success. I have also tried several drain cleaners without success. Any other ideas? I need to find something that will cut it.

The sides are done with 1x4for the vertical but what is used for the lip. Is that just a cut down 1x4 to what ? About 2inches ? At first it looked like a 2x4 on end until you said it wasn’t. I really clear view of the sides during the video. That’s the part I’m stuck on.I have the rest built

I hope it works for me I’m going to put this stuff in my 2007 Wolfsburg Jetta 2.5 I really hope it works I have a couple of drips not any big holes or anything nothings gushing out, I just have to keep putting radiator fluid in there every 10 or 20 minutes maybe then the light comes on telling me to refill it with coolant I open the cap the reservoir is being drained from the radiator not having fluids in it so hopefully it works for me I’ll come back and let you know in about two or three hours
