What only experienced musicians will catch: Gary botched the beginning of the outro, so what does he do? He changes a couple notes to make it a relative mode to make it match root, then seamlessly goes back into the root key to finish the outro. This is some expert level shxt to do live.

Gary Moore was a guitar legend and genius . Without doubt one of the greatest guitar 🎸 axe man ever, a top 3 in my opinion. I first saw Gary when he was a member of Thin Lizzy in the late 1970,'s but Gary stepped it up in his solo work and his move into Blues .His genius was there for all to see. Sadly Gary Passed away in 2011 whilst in Spain but I was fortunate enough to see Gary play a whole load off concerts around London from the Hammersmith Odeon ( Apollo) to smaller venues. I remember him doing shows with BB King Albert King and Albert Collins amongst other greats and I had the pleasure of seeing one show he did in June/July 1990 when I was standing at the vip bar watching Mr Moore perform whilst chatting away to John Lord of Deep Purple fame who at the time was a neighbour of mine. RIP GARY MOORE & JOHN LORD

This is an amazing song! Gary Moore in my opinion is the best guitarist of all time. He’s well known but so underrated at the same time!! If you like Gary Moore’s guitar solo’s - you will love Parisienne walkways. I recommend watching the live version, with the title - “Parisienne walkways best version” you won’t be disappointed. Gary’s “Corridors Of Power” is a great album! “Nuclear Attack” is on Greg Lake’s 1981 solo album. Gary played guitar for Greg’s 1981 and 1983 album, Manoeuvres. Both are excellent!

It's easy to find a guitar player, even a blues guitar, who is technically amazing on KZfaq. It's impossible to find a technically amazing guitar player who makes every note an emotional experience. Gary communicates the pain and desperation of the blues better than anyone ever has. Every solo is an emotional journey, a window into Gary' soul. Criminally under-rated, but he has has to be in any conversation about the GOAT.

You soo need to watch & listen to the DVD/blue ray of Gary Moore and friends : One night in Dublin a tribute to Phil Lynott , Gary played with Thin Lizzy for a while, sadly Phil Lynott died and the concert is awesome, sadly now Gary Moore has gone and we only have these great memories - that gig will blow you away

I was fortunate to see him open an all day show in the Astrodome, Houston in 1984. He was followed by Bryan Adams, Ozzy, .38 Special, and then Rush. Looking back, he should have been the headliner of the show and not the opening act. It's amazing how he makes you feel with that guitar.

Gary was one of the best to pick up the axe!!! This song will alwasy have a special place in my heart. When my daughter was born she suffered with very bad colic, playing this song and dancing with her was one of the only ways to get her to calm down and sleep. That was a great reaction, thank you. I was lucky enough to see Gary live more times than I can remember. The first time that I saw him was in 1969! In my humble opinion Gary was the best guitarist ever to walk this earth. He could play any style he wanted to from Blues, Rock, Jazz-Fusion and even Neo-classical. Gary was really one of a kind, a few really demonstrate that passion and often improvisation playing live, which was really his trade mark. I say it again, with him it was HIM being the extension of the guitar, and not the other way round like it’s mostly said. You see it and especially feel it every time you see and hear him live. There is one hidden gem 💎 that you HAVE to check out if you wanna see this in mastery, the song is called “Separate Ways” and the recording is from 1992, just before he hit the road for his tour he played this “little” show in an Town and Country club in London, with especial appearances of Albert Collin’s and the one and only B.B. King! This song has a double guitar intro and is one of the most beautiful ones you’ll ever hear. And the there is of course his masterpiece and signature song “Parisienne Walkways”, although the lyrics were written by Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy, one of his best friends btw., but it is HIS song and he played it until his death in 2011. The recording I recommend is one of his last performances actually, in 2010, and therefore exactly 30 years later on the same spot in Montreaux as this performance. That will also blow your mind,

there's a 10 minute video on KZfaq where Gary performs with B B King on the song the Thrill is Gone. The call and response between the two of them is incredible and it looks like they had a lot of un up there on stage together, the small audience that was in the club were treated to a magical performance.

Moore was born one of five children of local concert promoter Robert Moore and housewife Winnie Moore. Thanks to his father's profession, Moore grew up listening to music from Irish bands, playing live and country, rock and pop music of the era. He performed for the first time in 1958 at the age of six. Dressed in shorts and standing on a chair to reach the microphone, he sang a song called “Sugartime” with the show band.[2] In 1962, when Moore was 10 years old, his father bought a guitar from a musician. This was a large acoustic guitar from Framus. The strings were very hard, difficult to tune and the guitar was therefore very difficult to play. Yet Moore managed to master a number of Shadows songs in the first week. He taught himself some chords with the help of a book, watched other people play guitar, listened to records and got the feeling of playing the guitar. Although he was left-handed, he started playing with a right-handed guitar simply because he saw other guitarists doing the same. A year later, Moore performed under the name “Little Gary”. Two years later, in 1965, he played in a band called “The Beat Boys” in his father's club outside Belfast. Later they played in hotels and ballrooms and in terms of repertoire they basically played whatever the audience wanted to hear. Moore released his first solo album in 1973 as the Gary Moore Band. In 1979, with the help of Phil Lynott, he started a real solo career. The combination of Moore's guitar playing and Lynott's voice produced the single "Parisienne Walkways" (from the album 'Back On The Streets'), which reached the British top ten in April 1979. After a series of solid rock albums, Moore returned to the blues with the album Still Got the Blues, featuring contributions from B.B. King, Albert King and Albert Collins. This album was a tremendous success. Moore stuck with blues until 1997, when he decided to experiment with modern dance beats in A Different Beat. This misled many fans, and also the music press. With the album Back to the Blues, Moore finally returned to the familiar blues pattern. His most recent album is Bad for you baby. Moore died at the age of 58, while on holiday[1] in a hotel in Estepona, Spain. Moore lived in Brighton and had four children.

It was a sad day when Gary, passed away he has always been one of my favourite guitarists, one of the guitars that Gary, played used to belong to Peter Green, of Fleetwood Mac, fame and was known as Greenie, Gary had to sell the guitar because of financial problems and the guitar passed through a few peoples hands eventually being owned by Kirk Hammett,

Gary Moore, SRV, and the bands The Stray Cats and the Fabulous Thunderbirds and a few others saved 80s radio for me. I was sick of the overproduced pop rock or big hair band crap that was normally on the radio back then. They brought the blues and old school rock back to the radio. Check out Tuff Enough by the Fabulous Thunderbirds . Stevie Ray's older brother Jimmy played in that band.

I always liked this song, as well as my mom did because my brothers band used to cover this song. My brother played guitar in the band and my mom liked to watch him play this song. Sadly my mom passed away in 2012. Thanks for the memories.

@@aaronherbison7316 The Irish British thing is different , and you do know that. Many Prods do not identify as Irish. Why would he be influenced by his Irish heritage when his British heritage is Beatles, Stones, Floyd etc 🤔

@@telstar4772 many prods do identify as Irish.. you do you and Let Gary be who he was... Have you listened to his Wild Frontiers album... Not much Beatles or stones in there. Plenty of Uillean pipes and tin whistles....and fiddles and bodhrans but you keep walking your wee narrow line there lad, I'm sure these fine Americans could care less about the politics of it... 🤘 RIP Gary.
