Measure standing fingertips to bottom “tick” then add those inches to however many “ticks” you get and that is your vertical in inches. If you get all the “ticks” on a jump then raise it, remeasure fingertips to bottom “tick” and jump again. If billy “ran” the vertical jump at the last combine then why couldn’t he explain how it works? And how did Francis “Harvard” Ellis not ever figure this out?

On the note of the footballs being slippery and feeling weird. You have to break in a new football when you get it. A lot like a baseball glove, you have to break in the leather. Get them soaking wet, leave them to dry for a bit (roughly 20-30 minutes), brush them with a thick bristle brush, rub with leather conditioner, cover it in mud or baseball mud, then wash it off. They also sell something called tack spray you can spray on after all the other steps.
