I grew up in the next town over. Been eating this Sicilian for my whole life and is undoubtedly one of the best Sicilian slices you'll ever have. Gotta disagree with my man here but much love for shouting out Joes

I was born and raised in MV in the year 1970. Joe’s has been a staple of fleet wood since it opened. I moved north back in 2000 but I have family still down there and when I go down I make sure to get a pie of Sicilian and regular for my family. Great review and thank you for doing it.

Hey Dave-You did Johnny’s now you did Joe’s, and there used to be another joint around the corner on Gramatan Ave.-Frankie’s that my Pal’s father used to own. There was a big competition in Mt. Vernon for who had the best pies, also the Lincoln Lounge, which I thought had the best. Lincoln Lounge now sadly closed, but was in a Brutal competition with Johnny’s for decades for the best Pie in the Vern!!! Joe’s was MY go to spot for years in the 60’s although different owners then. They had a jukebox, and We used to rock out & hang-great times in Fleetwood🍕🎹🎼🍕🎹🎼🍕🍕🍕 The restaurant is pretty good too!!! During the beginning of the Rona I ordered frozen brick oven pizzas from a place close to where I live based off of Daves recommendation. Knowing he tasted that pizza, it’s ridiculous to think he’s serious when he recommended One Bite frozen pizza. They’re on two different planets. One Bite frozen pizza is literally in my top 5 worst. Hurts my heart Dave….hurts my heart.

Just tried an 8.3 less than a mile from me. Excellent pizza but my memory of Brooklyn pizza reigns supreme. It is the little nuances which make we pizza snobs such snobs. The crust has to be perfectly chewy, crispy and flavorful all at the same time. The sauce is just there but is alive. The cheese is perfect.
