The spark ignition is energized by a rechargeable lithium cell which in turn is powering an electronic switch and coil which is triggered by a hall sensor and a magnet attached to the flywheel.
The carburetor will work on gas and liquid fuel but is more happy with gas.
As the engine is very small the hit and miss facility is not good.
The engine starts easily using the adaptor and an electric drill running in reverse otherwise you end up with sore fingers.

I wonder how many people in 20 years time will have the skill set to make miniature stationary engine copies? In that respect, these will go from rare and priceless to virtually non existent and even more priceless. These hand made engines are beautiful, there’s an old guy down the road who makes them. I saw his workshop in the back of his bungalow with his latest project a couple of years ago, it was amazing to see.
