"Bas Rutten self defense guide." We learned that if someone attacks you in a bar all you have to do is: Step 1. Be Bas Rutten. step 2. Bite off attacker's face Step 3. Rip off his arms and use them as weapons to kill his friends. While in a calm voice tell them that this is all their fault and you are doing society a valuable service. step 4. Game over man. step 5. Call lawyer and prepare for manslaughter defense trial.

Speaking of Bas Rutten, he is one of my all-time favorites fighters, mainly bcs he's so damn good at targeting the liver. You will never forget the sensation of a hard liver shot. It became my favorite body part to target after receiving one for the first time. I was shocked how much it hurt, and the sensation throughout the entire body. It almost feels like an electric shock.

If Royce had to fight bas rutten with no time limit, he would do his level best to close the distance and exhaust bas and win in the long haul. He wouldn’t try to knock bas out or tap him out - he would try to not get hit with power punches until bas was tired and then slowly administer finishing techniques that would be sharper when bas was exhausted by 60%.

Bas was years later, after Royce? Does Rogan not realize that Rutten was fighting in Pancrase before the UFC existed? Also, not only was Bas fighting and fighting people of different sizes and with different techniques, but he didn't manipulate the game to his advantage -- didn't get picky with whom he would fight, didn't have rules that favored him implemented, etc

Bas is a physical mess for doing all the wrong things. What you get away with when you are in your 20s and 30s you pay for it in your 40s plus.
