Speaking of Bas Rutten, he is one of my all-time favorites fighters, mainly bcs he's so damn good at targeting the liver. You will never forget the sensation of a hard liver shot. It became my favorite body part to target after receiving one for the first time. I was shocked how much it hurt, and the sensation throughout the entire body. It almost feels like an electric shock.

Recently went to a Bas seminar. He may not be what he was 20 years ago but he is still a friggin beast. The intensity he has when demonstrating combinations is still hard for him to control and they have serious velocity.

this guy is a beast. i had a bicept tear, and i had to to a 5 mile canoe trip down river. it was the worst day of my life. later that day my entire upper arm pretty much turned black, but my bicept looked twice as big because of the swelling and the blood inside my arm. i thought i was one tough sob for enduring that till i heard this guys story. oh, and bas reutin is a magnifcent bastard. one of my all time favorites without a doubt.

I love we people talk about how badass Bas Rutten is, I feel he doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, in my opinion he is the greatest MMA fighter, the fought BARE KNUCKLE in Japan against people 50 pounds heavier then him and he still become champion. Not to mention he was also Heavyweight Champion in UFC

I've been going back through all the old MMA games and getting excited Bas is in the roster. Even have EA Sports MMA and sought it out specifically because he's such a big part of the game. That and its combat mechanics are so different to what UFC was at the time. I still do his workout regimen as often as I can on the heavy bag.

You must see my left calf. I've always naturally had massive calves - and one day, I noticed I couldn't run and had difficulty climbing stairs. Turns out it was my lower back. No pain, just no control over my foot. And them my left calf evaporated like I had polio. Four hears in and it's about 50% back, but I still don't have much control over the foot

As a person who has blown both distal biceps while boxing, I can vouch for it being a particularly shite injury to sustain. If anything, the recovery pain, post surgery is worse than the injury. So if you've done some lifting, make sure you stretch and stay elastic as well.

If Royce had to fight bas rutten with no time limit, he would do his level best to close the distance and exhaust bas and win in the long haul. He wouldn’t try to knock bas out or tap him out - he would try to not get hit with power punches until bas was tired and then slowly administer finishing techniques that would be sharper when bas was exhausted by 60%.

Bas was years later, after Royce? Does Rogan not realize that Rutten was fighting in Pancrase before the UFC existed? Also, not only was Bas fighting and fighting people of different sizes and with different techniques, but he didn't manipulate the game to his advantage -- didn't get picky with whom he would fight, didn't have rules that favored him implemented, etc
