Was that woman able to control it for a good length of time>? I'm in need of renting one and worried I can't do it myself.

We didn't test for endurance on this machine because, frankly, this ride-on unit is not terribly taxing, physically. Working over steep terrain could represent a little more challenge, but grab handles near the controls mitigate much of the physical effort. A walk-behind trencher could be a bit more work. But most trenchers do the hard work -- such as ground propulsion, turns, raising and lowering the boom -- under their own power. If you've not operated a trencher before, make sure you select a rental company that is willing to work with you to make sure you're very comfortable with how the machine works and you're safe. Do not start digging before you're sure you won't encounter buried utilities in the scope of your project. Dial 811 a week before you want to start working to bring One Call out to locate any underground utilities, whether you're doing the trenching work yourself or not.
