What shocks me is how little research people do before going in. Don’t do something without having the slightest idea of what your getting into
@balencii3269 ай бұрын
@@historicstudios2708Honestly, i’ve watched so many videos, read so many articles, etc. Even downloaded the main 3 AF apps to dive even deeper. I really wanna join, but i think my biggest fears are not having my brother (we’re extremely close), failing bmt, or being completely disqualified because i have AjD (i haven’t really seen any effects of it but i at diagnosed), bronchial asthma that doesn’t bother me much and environmental allergies plus an old injury from 2016 (hairline fracture and break on my pelvic, never got PT for it either)

“Pro” tip, take a deep breath before you take your mask off. If you don’t, you’ll take your mask off and immediately breathe in the hot aire, causes you to cough. Take a deep breath, take your mask off and give your reporting statement! I learned this in another you tubers video (this is not a personal experience, I’m only 17)

I just graduated bmt December 17, 2020. I recommend really using your time wisely and studying when you can! Learn the Airman’s Creed and song before you leave! Hang in there, it does get better throughout. When I went in I couldn’t do any push ups and came out doing 28 in a minute. I do recommend running before you join, I’m so glad that I did. Marching is really fun and the jodies are great. Overall it was a great experience and it flew by.

If you get hurt my MTI worked with me on it. I hurt my back and couldn't move without getting major back spasms, and my MTI let me rest while they were doing drill because I had my final pt test soon and my parents had already paid for their plane tickets so I didn't want to be put in the med flight. She asked if I could do my pt test and I said yeah I'll suck it up and I ran my 1.5 miles the next day and hit the ground once I passed the finish line in pain. My wingmen picked me up and literally carried me to my dorm again and she let me rest my back again for a few days until the final graduation. From her not med holding me and my flight mates literally carrying me up and down two flights of stairs to make sure I could graduate on time I was so grateful. They had to hide my injury from other flights which was funny but I'll never forget my amazing MTI and fellow flight mates. But seriously if you guys go and get hurt dont hide it from your MTI because then they can't help you.

@Court-wy4pz3 жыл бұрын
@@sanaah6064 That's why it's basic training. The instructors will help break those bad habits and help you develop new ones. The change won't happen in a day. These things takes time. The first time you will notice a change is when someone from back home sees you for the first time after basic. Sometimes it may take a little longer than basic for you to develop more tolerance to fear. Anxiety is completely normal as well, but It's how you cope that matters the most.

Each service has their own way and it depends on the personality going in. I liked how you were very real and mentioned your fears/wants/ideals behind your choice of going airforce. When I have ladies asking me about bootcamp I always ask what they fear the most about it….and if they fear going through a literal beautiful hell (that hell is what drove me towards it ;)….then I steer them away from USMC. But if they still want to serve their country and want more of an academic route I felt your explanation was more towards that lane. Thank you!!

Thank you for this I recently failed basic training for the marines due to anxiety issues that I either had and didn’t know about or developed at basic but my heart was never in the marines it was always in the air force so I plan to try again once I’m cleared and your video really helped

Excellent video! You did a great job of explaining the Air Force basic training experience. Can you discuss Air Force technical training in a video? What it's like there and how Airman choose their jobs, or if they're assigned. Or can you recommend a video or website to learn more about technical training? Thank you!

Was in basic in April 2018. Don't get too caught up about BMT. Its a very small part of your career. Best tip I can give: we are all hooligans, just control yourself.

Pretty sure that Chilimac would be considered slop, ngl also some few different things. Night shift EC is two hours now, no gas chamber, phone calls once a week, no one for graduation it’s all virtual, try and get as close as you can to passing the pt test before you leave, at least the push ups

Let me just say, she got so excited for the food but I’ve seen so many things that basic is the easiest shit ever, I’ve actively signing as we speak, don’t have a ship date yet but I am excited. It will probably be easy for me since I am in shape and ready for most of this.

13:00 I just left navy boot camp several months ago and literally pay phones at the nex are all we were allowed to use like once every two weeks.
