That would be tough
@markvl11Ай бұрын
at 14:57 i would start with the 7 as well since it is the easiest starter then the 3 to open up the rest of the rack. I would have hit it softer to roll up on the 7 or with stop to take the 3 in the top corner to give me more options on which ball to take next like the 5 or the 4 next with insurance.
@markvl11Ай бұрын
at 22:17 i might push the 12 towards the 9 an left him against the bottom rail. that will only leave a very tough cut on the 7 and depending on where the 12 ended up it could cut off that pocket completely.

Classic green and red Monsters here. Also...not a sponsor. "trust your stroke" suggestion. in practice try closing your eyes after you've done your micro strokes lining everything up. Close em, draw your hand back then release. Listen for the ball to drop in the pocket before opening your eyes again. It's a satisfying sensation. It might help you with pulling the stick back. Stroke through, don't jerk your arm back and listen.
@markvl11Ай бұрын
at 39:21 I would have cut the one as it opens up the 7 and removes all the trouble. then it is just pattern play for the rest of the rack.
@raelynnclinardАй бұрын
In Game 3, I would have taken the 7, but hit the 9 into the 7, carom the 7 off the 10 to open that pocket for all the solids you have in that quadrant. I'm a Monster girl myself. My fave is the Pipeline Punch, but nothing beats the original! I generally give people easy money balls/etc as a sign of respect, but that's just me. If it's an important match, I won't though.

I paused the video and thought the same. Whether or not the 9 (I thought it may stick) clears was questionable, but I felt worth the chance. Nice shooting Josh!

17:36 Next time you have this shot (or any long cut like this), do not aim at the center of the pocket. On this shot, you want to aim at the right corner of the pocket. The reason for this is you have to allow for the friction (throw) imparted on the object ball by the cue ball. This is more prevalent with dirty balls (insert joke here), such as with league racks. When balls are nice, polished & shiny, this isn't much of an issue. If you notice, you came short of the pocket. Had you aimed to the right corner, the throw would've carried you those couple of inches over.
@devinshannon2995Ай бұрын
I've been been working on exactly that. The ghost ball does not work on those. Hit it slightly thick and let the cut induced throw do it's magic.
@jeffarthur322Ай бұрын
Here’s a thought, when your opponent gives the last ball or ball s giving you the frame. It could just be because they thought if they got to the point they missed, then they already lost . OR : A money player is trying to play you later and not showing their true speed
@Amateur_PoolАй бұрын
Could be!

Thanks for the comments on respectful and cordial play. Amateur league players have to basically ref their own matches, if there's a questionable shot coming up either have it watched by a third party or abide by whatever the shooter said happened. If I ever play for money again, I'll insist on a third-party arbitrator who'll make calls and holds the stake.
@dingledangledingdong269318 күн бұрын
@@deershack5388, "if I ever play for money again..." WHAT??? Money means nothing in life. It is a means to an end. Play for the SPORT of it. Bet like your life depends on it (it doesn't). Money comes, money goes. 💸💸💸

Hey Josh, love your content. Been a sub since the first few. I have noticed in the videos when you get balls that are clumped together, you call it clutter. Everywhere I've played, (was in USAF so I've played in a few states) everyone calls them clusters. Is this a geographic thing I've never noticed or is it one of those Detroit things like adding an "s" to words like shape? It's a weird and meaningless question I know, I'm just curious. Keep up the good work, really enjoy watching the channel.

31:07 This has nothing to do with head games or gambling, etc. Like you said, pool is considered a gentlemanly sport. When you're playing someone you're somewhat comfortable with (friend, league teammate, etc.) you extend the courtesy of conceding the game, especially if the player had a rough run out and has a simple final shot. This is kind of saying, "Great run, I saw the shit you went thru and I know even Stevie Wonder can make this 8ball now."

During the 4th game at the 21:58 mark where you ended up choosing the 14 in the side, why didn't you thin the 12 with a touch of inside spin and take the cue down off the bottom rail and hide it in your cluster of 4 balls? Yes you would have potentially put the 8-ball in the side in play, but thinning the 12 would have negated that. (Just an observation)
@Amateur_Pool29 күн бұрын
not sure why. I watched it back and the only thing that I can think of is that would send the 8 towards the side pocket. Would have been a good play though (if it doesn't move the 8 ball)
@kenschortgenjr754029 күн бұрын
@@Amateur_Pool Because we were watching the angle below those balls, it is harder to judge whether the 12 was above the 8, or absolutely in line with it. This is why I suggested a thin cut, a touch below the center of the 12 which would have sent it towards the 8 and the rail at a slight angle helping to eliminate any potential direct combo of the 8 into the side pocket.

Game 1. NEVER allow your opponent to stop a rolling cue ball. Or divert it with their cue stick. Or pick it up while it is rolling. That is an old hustler's trick. The cue ball may have bounced off the corner pocket & into the 5. This is a gross foul & loss of game.
