I was going to make something else, but the blank was too small, so I made it a bass drum beater

That's an insane amount of work for a beater, but worth it as the sticks you would've just burned or tossed are now serving your songs again. I love your drill press lathe. I never thought to use one like that. Good deal and great work as always!

your a true craftsman! when I was a kid my dad had a couple of fiberglass dowels, & I asked if I could make indestructible drumsticks outta them, he said sure that's a good idea, we didn't have a lathe (sp) but he had a drillpress that we laid on its side & I shaped em like that. in the end they looked like real drumsticks but not exactly identical in taper & bead, but I was proud & he was too. unfortunately they felt awful with alot of vibration transfer to the hands. I gave them away to someone who liked em.

Your woodworking skills are great. I was kinda hoping to see more of a nod to the drumstick in the final piece. Don't get me wrong, what you made looked lovely, but if I was shown the drum beater first I would never have guest you used drum sticks to make it 😉

There is no purpose, I should have just cut the sanding part out of the vid. I started to get them square by sanding but it was taking forever so I switched to the planer.
